Two weeks ago we had the honor to attend the dedication for Chad Giesige’s memorial at Ayersville High School. We would like to thank the Ayersville Athletic Boosters for putting this event together on military appreciation night! The ceremony to honor Chad was a class act!

Although his injury in Iraq was tragic, the bonds and relationships made due to that injury are everlasting. We will always remember his family for their courage and commitment as they were called into duty to serve Chad the way they were able to for over 20 years. Our staff at Defiance Physical Therapy feels lucky and honored to have been a small part in Chad’s life. #87 🩵

The DPT family lost a true friend this week. Chad was a real life hero with a heart that was a perfect compliment to match his intensity for life. Those around him could always appreciate his smile and sense of humor even while faced with an impossible injury to overcome.

At DPT, we got to know him over the past 20 years since his injury in Iraq. The hours and years spent with him have had more of an impact on us than he could have ever known. He was a consistent reminder that in therapy we aren't just showing up for a job, the heart of what we want to do is serve and help others. Our hearts are filled knowing Chad is now made whole again.

The donations are beginning to roll in! They've even started to overflow into the clinic as Jane and JoAnn are running out of room at the front desk! 😁 Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! We will be collecting until the end of the week.
