Hey friends,

I have not posted anything publicly about this yet because it has been an emotional process for me, but I have had to step away from massage therapy work for the rest of the year.

My physical health is not quite where it needs to be to sustain full time physically-involved work.

I am working on regaining full strength and capacity hoping and planning to be back to work in January!

*AND* Between now and then, I am working on the process to be able to take insurance!!

I know this will make a difference to my clients ability to receive treatment more frequently and make more consistent progress in your own physical and emotional health.

Once again we are meeting this Friday night for a Somatic Embodiment and Restorative Yoga Circle!

This class is for you if you feel you have processed trauma and done healing work, but don’t know what comes next.
It is for you if you feel like the stress of life keeps you too bogged down to be able to feel good things and savor the goodness of life.
It is for you if you have lost touch with your own pleasure and libido.
It is for you if you have trouble accessing gratitude in the mundane of daily life.

There is an oft quoted phrase in healing work that you are not healing to be able to handle the trauma, you have already handled that! You are healing to be able to handle the joy!

In this class you will be guided through restorative yoga and somatic embodiment practices to expand your capacity for joy, for goodness, for vitality, and for pleasure.

Like fanning the embers into flame and realizing your capacity to hold everything good and wonderful!!

If you struggle with anxiety or with a sense of dissociation from your own awareness of your body, one of the most accessible and basic ways to begin your soothe the nervous system and create a sense of calm and presence within the body is to honor your somatic sensations!

This is more than emotional expression,
honoring the sensations of the body also looks like

Going to the restroom when you first recognize sensations of needing to p*e,

Eating something when you first recognize sensations of hunger,

Resting when you first recognize sensations of fatigue.

Don’t make your body wait for basic sensations to be “heard” and taken seriously.

Your body will thank you.

(I am not saying that eating when you feel hunger is going to cure anxiety, I am saying that these habits strengthen your connection with your body and stronger connection with your body can positively effect anxiety.)
