With practice, kids strengthen the visual skills that open doors to learning, communication, and independence.

During our social skills lessons, we break down social interactions into manageable, understandable parts. We use modeling, role-playing, visual supports, and real-life scenarios to teach everything from greetings to conflict resolution. But the real magic happens during practice when students get the chance to apply what they’ve learned in safe, guided environments.

Our Community Helpers/Heroes week concluded with a special visit from the Walk in the Woods Apiary. Our clients enjoyed viewing a live bee hive, and experienced wearing a real beekeeper protection suit.
After learning about how bees make honey, each child was gifted a sample honey bear full of delicious wild flower honey.
We appreciate the community’s support and interest in our kids. We may have some future beekeepers in our clinic! 🐝🍯

A special thank you to Roderick Davis with Roderick’s Remodeling for coming out for community helpers week! The kids enjoyed assisting in building the birdhouse and exploring the cool tools! We love when the community comes together to support our children and families!

Canopy welcomed a special visit from respected community educators, including Mrs. Motley, Mrs. Somerset, and Mr. Somerset. During their visit, they shared their experiences working in education as teachers and a principal. Our clients enjoyed a fun and engaging interactive read-aloud session led by our guests. Establishing partnerships with education professionals is essential for fostering collaborative relationships with local schools to achieve the best client outcomes.

Canopy has a motto that when you have the best team, you celebrate. But when you have a Casey, you make sure she knows how much she is appreciated! We have been so blessed to have Casey as part of our Canopy family for the last 7 years! We are extremely grateful for all she has done to contribute to the growth and success of Canopy!
She loves July 4th and red, white, and blue so it was perfect that her Canopy anniversary month is in July! ❤️🤍💙

Our Bonifay location celebrated Community Helpers/Heroes week with Farmer’s Day. We would like to thank Catherine Peel and Holmes County Farm Bureau for providing a tractor for the kids to explore. The children also had the opportunity to pet a chicken and learn about egg production. We value the community’s support and interest in our local youth! 🚜🐣🐓

As part of Community Helpers/Heroes week, the Bonifay location welcomed a special visit from the Bonifay City Fire Department today. Firefighter Nathan Johnson shared valuable insights on fire safety and demonstrated his fire safety measures used during a fire. The children were thrilled to use the fire hose, which was the highlight of the day! We appreciate the fire department taking the time to bring the fire truck and special treats for the kids. On our second day of Community Helpers week here at the Bonifay location, we were honored to receive a surprise visit from the Holmes County Emergency Medical Service. Our clients had the opportunity to pose questions to the EMTs and explore the inside of the ambulance. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support from our local community law enforcement including the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office and the medical professionals with the Holmes County EMS
