What does Animal Control do in DeKalb County, IL? Our wardens:
- Enforce local and state laws and ordinances
- Ensure animals are vaccinated for rabies and maintain records
- Educate on responsible pet ownership, vaccination and care
- Respond to reports of sick, injured or distressed wildlife and provide rescue or referral when feasible
- Collaborate with veterinary providers, wildlife rehabilitators, public health agencies and law enforcement to coordinate response
