COVID-19: Moving through fear and sadness. Gratitude for the gifts that fill our hearts with hope...

The gifts of generosity and kindness. Opening our hearts to help our global community.

Witnessing community coming together to help one another in so many ways!

Young people offering to shop for elderly neighbors they have never met.

Restaurants offering free meals to those in need.

The gifts of connected hearts to get through times of physical isolation.

Musicians creating the gift of online communities by livestreaming music and engaging online. Everyone feeling comforted and connected through this shared experience of isolation, fear, sadness, concern for others and wishing everyone well. This extends beyond loved ones and people you know. This connects every human. While the physical separation is greater, the perceived separateness between people has diminished. No one is immune to this virus, and everyone is living this surreal reality that has become our new normal. Strangers, celebrities, friends and family. In a live video chatroom, we are all people connected by a shared experience, going through this together. In that moment everyone feels less isolated, and hearts feel full of love and appreciation.

People are connecting in more personal ways, rather than relying on texting. People reaching out to make sure loved ones are ok. People calling more often to hear each other’s voice and say I love you.

People are being forced to slow down and take time to reflect and appreciate what really matters in life.

Those who are quarantined with loved ones are getting gifts of precious time together.
Gifts of deeper appreciation, gratitude, love and compassion.

A deeper appreciation for time with loved ones, and importance of expressing that love.

A deeper appreciation for all the essential workers that put their health at risk every day to help those trying to heal and those trying to stay safe and healthy.

A deeper appreciation for health that is not taken for granted, and deeper compassion for all that are suffering physically, emotionally, and financially as a result of this virus.

Gifts of personal growth and adaptability to rapidly changing circumstances.

Gifts of creativity, growth, strength and resilience. Slowing down and bringing focus back to the ways to bring balance to your overall sense of well-being, health and happiness. Increasing immune systems by taking care of yourself, body, mind and spirit.

The whole world has been impacted, and we are one unified connected world healing from this. Our lives will be changed, and these gifts will remain.

These are gifts that people will keep when life resumes to its new normal. We will love more deeply, take less for granted, and be stronger for it. πŸ’—
