At RGH, our Radiology & Imaging Services team performs thousands of imaging studies every year — with the same advanced technology you’d expect in a large city hospital, but with the personal care only a rural hospital can provide.

Each year, our team completes:
• 5,256 X-rays
• 4,622 CT (CAT) Scans
• 955 MRI scans
• 1,159 Ultrasounds
• Plus, CT Calcium Scans, helping identify possible coronary artery disease before symptoms appear

Behind every image is a dedicated, highly trained team:
• 6 full-time registered Radiologic Technologists
• A full-time Department Manager
• A full-time receptionist
• 24/7 image interpretation by Colorado Imaging Associates

Our techs are certified, cross-trained, and deeply committed to doing things the right way — because accurate imaging leads to better diagnoses, better treatment, and better outcomes.

🌱 Advancing Food Is Medicine: Healing People and the Land 🌱

The RGH Wellness Center was honored to host an inspiring and powerful conversation on Food Is Medicine, co-hosted by Patrick O’Neil and Emily Brown. This event highlighted how food can be a true foundation for healing—both for people and for the land.

A heartfelt thank you to Erin Martin, Director and Founder of FreshRX, whose firsthand experience proves that this work truly makes a difference. Through knowledge, prevention, and lived success, she showed us that with the right path, we can restore our health and reconnect with our food systems.

The San Luis Valley is on the ground floor of this incredible initiative. With strong peers working alongside us and a solid foundation being built, we are excited to move forward and begin planning what this can look like for our community.

🚶‍♀️ Walking Paths – Breaking Ground Continued 🚧
Things are really starting to take shape at the RGH Wellness Center!

Our walking paths are being framed and leveled, laying the foundation for safe, accessible routes that will soon invite movement, connection, and fresh air. The framing is expected to be completed soon, just in time for the engineering crew to arrive and keep things moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and follow along with this project. It’s exciting to watch this space transform step by step—literally.

🚧 Breaking Ground — Continued! 🚧
Before we start moving large amounts of dirt (official construction term 😉), we’re doing what the pros insist on—making sure our dig zone is safe, cleared, and exactly where it should be.

Enter the Dig Safe crew—the folks who make sure we don’t accidentally discover any “surprise utilities” while reshaping the landscape. From verifying clearances to marking lines and confirming depths, this step is all about doing things the right way before the real earthmoving begins.

We’re excited to keep this project rolling and will continue sharing updates as the Wellness Center grounds transform right before our eyes. Thanks for following along and cheering us on—more progress (and more dirt) coming soon!
