My rock bottom?…. 2016, the year I got sober because I realized I was completely addicted to the narcotics prescribed to me for over 10 years. As a chronic pain and mental health warrior I can remember a time when I was on 13 different meds and in the ER at least one month. I was numb, broken, & just trying to survive. I didn’t have the tools back then to cope. I honestly thought I was doing the right thing cuz at least I could get up and care for the kids. This affected every relationship with friends, family, and even my kids. Until one day I suddenly became aware of the damage that was being created. So I started healing!

Almost 8 years later and I’m sober, healthy, happy, & at peace with the diagnoses that held me back for so long. Even after fracturing my spine and arm in 2021. The self hate, judgment, guilt, and unhealthy boundaries are gone & new beginnings have started. All because I chose to love me first, so I can have enough to give others. ✊🏽

I’ve learned to be patient with the process and give myself grace. I went back to school for holistic medicine and practice what I learn. My life is not perfect but I’m so grateful for my blessings. 🤍✨🪬

Same girl, different coping skills!!!
2016- single mom, heartbreaking diagnosis’, addiction to Rx given to me, toxic relationships, self hate, guilt , & no idea how to cope with life other then pray.

2024- kids are grown, beating the odds of these diagnosis, Sober AF, healthy boundaries, healing, self care, no more guilt, and using the tools to cope that I’ve learned, and meditation is my medication.

Point is we do recover, it takes time, patience, a lot of work to rewire the thoughts, faith, and self love 🤍✨🪬

My kids tell me all the time I am a great mother. But there is something about sitting in my truth and realizing that I can forgive myself for the mistakes I made as a young mom. I was also a great father cuz I did it in my own.

Their love is unconditional and God gave me then to teach me the true meaning of love. Having the three of them by 21 and basically growing up with them taught me that this love is worth fighting for. 🤍✨🪬

Now I get to watch them blossom into the amazing adults that they are ✊🏽💕🙊🙈🙉✌🏽
