💜 Alliance Community Supports Alzheimer’s Research 💜
Our residents and staff came together for a special cause—raising $585 through a raffle organized by our very own Heather Ellixson! 🎟️✨ Executive Director Chad Hurta had the honor of drawing the winning ticket.
This effort is just the beginning—our team is excited to participate in the Alzheimer’s Walk at Earl Brown Park in DeLand on November 1, 2025. 🏃‍♀️💜 Together, we’re walking with unity, compassion, and hope.

Alliance Community Assisted Living hosted a special celebration honoring resident Janet Chambliss and her extraordinary years in Africa. As part of the event, Janet presented a captivating film highlighting her time on the continent.

Janet and her late husband, Sam, served as caretakers of a wildlife sanctuary at Twin Springs Ranch in Africa, where they dedicated 18 years to the care and conservation of elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and more. One touching scene from the film showed Janet and Sam visiting with their beloved black rhinos that became part of their extended family.

Now 88, Janet continues to inspire with her remarkable stories, adventurous spirit, and deep love for wildlife. The Alliance Community is honored to celebrate her legacy and the lasting impact she and Sam made in the world of conservation.
