Has the time change thrown you off this week?

Every year around this time we see it…
The clocks change, the days get longer, and suddenly people are dealing with fatigue, sinus pressure, headaches, poor sleep, stress, or seasonal allergies.

As we move from winter into spring, the body has to adjust to a completely new rhythm. In Asian Medicine, seasonal transitions are one of the most important times to support the body so symptoms don’t build up later.

Many of our long-term patients come in 3–4 times a year specifically during seasonal shifts because acupuncture helps keep their system balanced and resilient.

Lately we’ve been seeing patients for:
• Sinus congestion & seasonal allergies
• Headaches and tension
• Digestive upset
• Trouble sleeping after the time change
• Fatigue and stress

A simple treatment can help your body reset, regulate, and adapt to the new season.

If you’ve been thinking about coming in, this is the perfect time for a seasonal tune-up.

In Asian Medicine, we don’t wait until symptoms become severe before we offer care. Instead, we pay attention to the seasons and how the body responds to those changes.

Spring places extra demand on the Liver and Gallbladder systems. If those systems are already under stress from things like overwork, lack of rest, or ongoing tension, this is often the time when symptoms begin to show up.

You might notice you feel a little more reactive than usual or you might find yourself awake during the night. You may feel muscle tightness or stiffness that wasn’t there earlier in the year. These changes are very common during seasonal transitions.

Supporting the body during this time helps it stay flexible and balanced rather than becoming overwhelmed by the shift. If you’re not sure whether what you’re experiencing is related to the season, that’s something we can look at together during a visit.

You’re always welcome to call the office at 386 734 4126, and we’ll be happy to help you schedule.

One of the acupuncture points I often work with during the spring season is called Liver 3.

It’s located on the top of the foot, in the space between the big toe and the second toe. In the clinic, this point is used frequently because it helps restore the smooth movement of energy throughout the body.

When the Liver system becomes a little constrained which often happens during seasonal transitions. People may notice things like irritability, headaches, tight shoulders, digestive changes, or restless sleep. Liver 3 is very helpful for gently releasing that internal pressure.

Patients often describe the effect in a very simple way. Not dramatic. Not overwhelming. Just a quiet sense of relief, as if the body can finally relax and breathe again.

If this spring has felt a bit tense or uncomfortable so far, this is a wonderful time to come in. Supporting the body during seasonal changes helps prevent small imbalances from turning into larger patterns later on.

Spring & the Liver Meridian

In Asian Medicine, each season is connected to a different organ system.
Spring is the season of the Liver meridian, which governs the smooth flow of energy (Qi) throughout the body.

Just like plants begin pushing upward through the soil, the body begins to move and expand after the slower energy of winter.

When the Liver meridian is balanced, people often feel:
• Clear-headed
• Motivated and creative
• Flexible in body and mind
• Emotionally steady

When it becomes stressed or stagnant, people may notice:
• Headaches or migraines
• Neck and shoulder tension
• Irritability or mood swings
• Seasonal allergies
• Digestive upset
• Trouble sleeping

Acupuncture helps support the Liver meridian by encouraging the smooth movement of energy throughout the body, which can make seasonal transitions feel much easier.

Spring is one of the best times of the year to receive acupuncture, as it helps the body reset, detoxify, and adapt to the new season.

If your body has been feeling the shift, a treatment can help restore balance.
