Yesterday, we honored Patriot Day, a day to remember and pay tribute to those impacted by the 9/11 attacks that happened 24 years ago. Residents took a moment of silence to show their respect for the victims of this tragedy.

Championed by Marian McQuade, National Grandparents Day was officially established by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, designating the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day to strengthen intergenerational bonds and recognize the importance of seniors. 👴👵💕

Last Wednesday, we took some of our residents to the opening day of the Walworth County Fair at the Walworth County Fairgrounds. They had a great time enjoying delicious food, lively music, and wonderful company. They even got to experience a camel ride! 🐪🎪🐰

Residents, along with Murphy, enjoyed a delightful morning outdoors. They relished the fresh air, savored blackberry sundaes made with handpicked berries from Kitty, and had a blast with bubbles. What a perfect day!

We’re super excited to finally launch the Cycling Without Age-Walworth County program after dealing with months of bad weather!

Residents enjoyed bike rides around the Delavan neighborhood, thanks to our volunteer "pilots." We even got some honks and waves from passing cars and trucks! The fresh air and sunshine were definitely highlights of the rides.

We can't wait for them to come back again on August 20!

We threw a Fourth of July party for residents, featuring red, white, and blue punch and cookies. Residents also enjoyed trivia and played "Would you Rather." Staff members Curt and Mari participated in a parade to represent Delavan Health Services. We had a fun time!

Big shout out to all of our participants in the hot dog eating contest!

We held our very own hot dog eating contest last Thursday. This was a friendly competition held in the Dining Room, with residents in attendance. The winner was the first individual to consume 10 hot dogs!

Four employees participated: Shane (Housekeeping Manager), Curt (Maintenance), Wally (Housekeeper), and Bo (Housekeeper). Curt came out on top as the champion! 🌭🌭🌭

We had plenty of delicious food and fun dress-up days during National Nursing Assistants Week!

We treated everyone to sub and Italian beef sandwiches, desserts, bacon, bagels, and quesadillas. Thank you to Pastries by Chad, LLC in Elkhorn for the tasty cupcakes. In addition to our Hawaiian/luau dress-up day, we also organized a party for residents and staff.
