Most people think “abs” mean crunches, but for women 35+, it’s about opening the front body. As we age, our posture tends to collapse forward. Backbending doesn’t just stretch the spine; it elongates the abdominal muscles and strengthens the deep posterior chain—the “hidden” key to a flatter, more functional core.
Benefits of this daily practice: .
* Backbends stretch your abdominal muscles
* Backbends open your chest, help you breathe more easily, and can improve blood oxygen levels
* Backbends stimulate the heart chakra, making it easier to practice compassion and empathy
* Backbending regularly can alleviate back and neck pain

Practicing backbends every day can help prevent that achiness. With every backbend, you build the strength and flexibility you need to support your back and neck in front of your computer, walk up a flight of stairs.
