The Bruce F. and Dorothy J. Henry Ohio Living Cape May Memory Center of Excellence is officially open! Made possible through the generous support of longtime Clinton County residents who recognized the urgent need for local memory care services, the center is the first-of-its-kind in the area. It features 21 assisted living-style rooms, a dedicated courtyard for residents, and will implement the Hearthstone Institute’s renowned “I’m Still Here” approach.

At 17, Ronald Hager joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. On Nov. 13, as an Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice patient, he finally took his Honor Flight from Columbus to Washington, D.C. Along with visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Ronald toured memorials honoring every branch of the military, witnessed the Changing of the Guard at Arlington, and saw iconic landmarks including the White House, and Lincoln and Washington Memorials. Leyla Zickau, Executive Director – Holdings of Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice, accompanied him as his guardian, with T. Marzetti Company generously covering the cost of her flight. Mary Brooks has worked at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village for 41 years – and been the dinner cook for most of those years.
Mary began her career working part time at the Fairmount Health & Rehabilitation Center on the tray line, and then a job opened up as a full-time lunch cook. After lunch cook, she became a full-time cook in the morning at Fairmount. She then came a full head cook at the Breckenridge Village North apartment building the year it opened!
“What has kept me here for 41 years is getting to know the residents and people I work with,” Mary expressed. “Some of my closest friends to this day I met at this job.”
It also helps that Mary “truly loves to cook.”
