Celebrating 100 Years of Pickerington Performing Arts

Celebrating 100 Years of Pickerington Performing Arts This page is dedicated to Mr. Sewell, Mr. Long, and Mrs. Lawson with their involvements in making th Mike Sewell, Mr. John Long and Mrs. Mrs.

The intention for this page is to provide a place for people (former students, parents or colleagues) to comment and/or interact regarding their experiences with Mr. Margaret Lawson while they were participating in or involved with their programs during their high school years. This page is intended to be a tribute to these three people for their combined years (30+ each) of teaching, representing

over 100 years of instruction in the Pickerington Performing Arts. These three individuals have provided and demonstrated a LOVE for these arts, so much so that Pickerington is known nationwide now and has demonstrated excellence year after year in each of these programs. As a result of the efforts of these three individuals, many students have gone on to excel in these three areas, contributing to the excellence of music, singing and theatre in their own neighborhoods and helping other young people to learn and enjoy the arts. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that we, as members of the Pickerington community, ask all those involved in any way with these programs over the years to comment with their best or most favorite memories, experiences or moments in time so as to provide a lasting memory of and a tribute to the talents of such great people. Lawson retired from teaching two years ago, Mr. Long retired last year and Mr. Sewell remains an active staff member of the Pickerington Local School District. We ask that everyone, as many as possible, join us in walking in the Pickerington Labor Day Parade to be held at 10am on Monday, September 3, 2012, walking after the float carrying all three of these individuals. If you'd like to participate in the decorating of the float, please contact Darlene Kuzmic, 614-531-2050. The parade is the 64th annual Labor Day Parade, sponsored by the Pickerington Lions Club. Both Pickerington Central and North bands will be playing in Victory Park after the parade, and the Pickerington Central Chorale will be singing the National Anthem. Please join us in these festivities, and stay for the Lions Fish Fry beginning at 11am.
