Attention Louisiana State Group employees and retirees:
It is with a frustrated, broken heart that we have been forced to go public with our fight against the La Division of Administration ( Commissioner Jay Dardenne) and La Office of Group Benefits ( Col David Couvillion). Unless something changes, effective 1/1/23 we will no longer be able to fill prescriptions for our patients with La State Group Benefits. Apparently the gentlemen named above donβt understand the relationships between community pharmacists and our patients! Despite UNANIMOUS BIPARTISAN rejection of the CVSCaremark contract for prescription services for our state employees/retirees, Commissioner Dardenne signed it anyway!!!!!! The contract offered to pharmacies would not cover the costs of what we can buy our brand name drugs for so we had no choice but to reject it. We are actively working several options and tirelessly pursuing every angle to stop this injustice . We will not quit but unfortunately time is not on our side. All it takes is someone to convince one of these men to make the call and fix this! There are solutions and they are not being truthful if they tell you there is nothing they can do.
Beg them not to do this! Tell them the stories of why you need the pharmacists that know and love you ! Unless something changes, we will not be an in network pharmacy for the Office of Group Benefits Pelican and Magnolia plans starting January 1st! This is an extremely emotional and overwhelming time for us as well as our patients. We will be happy to give a self pay price quote for you to make an informed decision. If itβs a brand name or anything that makes more financial sense to fill on your insurance, we will transfer it to the contracted pharmacy of your choosing. We are just as upset and are trying to navigate this unprecedented calamity as best we can. We will not give up!
