Our Story

Franklin Eyewear LLC was opened in 2016 by Johanna VanDeusen, a New York state licensed ophthalmic dispenser (optician). After working for many years in Oneonta, she felt a drive to bring more services to Delaware County. One of the main goals was to make new eyewear more attainable, whether by reducing the cost or having a more convenient option. She outfitted Franklin Eyewear with eyeglass frames that are unique, stylish, trendy and not commonly seen in our area.

In September of 2018, she was joined by Dr. Helen Luu Garner an optometrist native to Philadelphia, PA. She was looking for a practice to join where she could bring her personal approach to eye care and develop relationships with her patients. She was also in search of the quality of life found in Delaware County. Franklin Eyewear became the perfect fit!

Dr. Luu Garner and Johanna VanDeusen provide highly personalized and excellency in eye care and eyewear. We have locations in Delhi and Franklin to add convenience for residents of Delaware County. We are in Delhi on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and in Franklin on Tuesday and Friday. Hours at both locations are from 9am until 5:30pm.

We provide eye care services such as: comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, emergent medical visits, contact lens evaluations and fittings, glaucoma screening and cataract evaluations.
