Vehicle Overturned Sussex Highway

February 15, 2026, Sussex EOC alerted Delmar Fire Department for a vehicle accident with injuries and rollover. Units arrived to find a single vehicle accident with a vehicle that rolled over several times. The vehicle landed on its wheels on top of an underground electrical box. One patient was transported with minor injuries. The scene was turned over to DSP and the electric company.

Assist Salisbury with House Fire

On the dreary day of February 15, 2026, Wicomico EOC alerted Salisbury, Parsonsburg, and Pittsville Fire Departments for a structure fire on the East side of the city. Crews arrived to find a one story house with smoke showing from the roof line. Station 74 was added with two tankers. Engine 74-2 arrived and assumed the RIT responsibilities. 74-2 and Tanker 74 supplied water to the engine companies. 74-2 crew also assisted with overhaul. One subject was removed from the residence in good condition.

Working Garage Fire

On the morning of February 10, 2026 Delmar, Salisbury, Hebron, and Laurel Fire Departments were alerted to the intersection of Chestnut and First Streets for a structure fire. Units found a garage well off in the 100 Block of Pine Street. Crews operated or about an hour to bring the situation under control. A vehicle was also damaged. Maryland State Fire Marshal Office is investigating.

On January 24, 2026 Delmar and Laurel Fire Departments were alerted for a street alarm for a shed fire on Cardinal Road. Command arrived on location to find a large shed on fire. 74-2 pulled a line to the rear door and began an interior attack. Shortly after conditions worsened and the crew was backed out. A full box assignment was requested by command. 81-4 pulled a line of their unit and 81-5 pulled a second line off of 74-2 to knock the bulk of the fire down. Crews re-entered the structure and knocked down all visible fire. Salisbury Truck 2 and Parsonsburg Engine Tanker 6 assisted with overhaul. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for minor burns.

MVC Vehicle vs Tractor Trailer

On January 7, 2026 Delmar Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer. Command 74 arrived to find a 2 vehicle MVC blocking the entire Southbound side of Sussex Highway (Rt 13) at Line Road. Two patients had no injuries and refused EMS. Rescue 74 assisted the tow truck driver with loading the mangled vehicle and cleaned up debris. Sussex Highway was closed for approximately 30 minutes.
