Officials say the drugs were being peddled on social media apps.

Have you heard of Nitazenes? (pronounced ny-TAH-zeens) They are synthetic opioids that are many times stronger than fentanyl. The scariest part? Narcan may not be enough to save you if you overdose. In many cases, even multiple doses can fail — or only buy minutes before the drug takes over again.

Fentanyl and nitazines are often added to street drugs and counterfeit medications. They are powerful, and just a tiny dose can lead to overdose and death.
