On 08-24-2024 the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was requested to perform a welfare check on a female subject who had checked herself out of a hospital against medical advice.

The reporting party stated the female was in poor health and was en route to Illinois to purchase over the counter supplements labeled as “Za Za” commonly known as “gas station he**in” and “Pegasus gold”.

The female was located and checked on by deputies. After investigation it was determined that some of the ingredients in the “supplements” were illegal to possess in Indiana and mimicked the effects of he**in. The female admitted to being addicted to this product and wanted to seek medical help.

The female was taken to a hospital for medical treatment and ti assist with her road to recovery. A report will be forwarded to the Carroll County Prosecutors Office for review for Possession of a Schedule 1 substance

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office hopes the post will educate the public on this new and dangerous substance being found in our community.
