“There’s nothing you can do for sciatic nerve pain…”
I overheard this conversation this morning and it hurt my PT brain.
This is NOT true. Sciatic pain is very treatable. 🙌
If you—or someone you know—is dealing with what they’re calling “sciatica,” here’s how we commonly approach it:
✅ 1. Calm down the irritated nerve + nervous system
Reduce irritation and calm symptoms at the source.
✅ 2. Relieve compression + improve movement
Use muscle pump and movement-based strategies to help decrease pressure and improve mobility.
✅ 3. Correct contributing movement and posture issues
Address biomechanical factors and movement patterns that may be keeping symptoms around.
✅ 4. Build strength + resilience
Strengthen the body so symptoms are less likely to return and create a more long-term solution.
Sciatic pain can feel frustrating, limiting, and scary—but it very treatable with the right approach!
