No matter your age, balance can always be improved. Even those without a balance disorder can suffer from balance-related injuries. Below is a quick exercise to try; the results will tell you if you should consult a PT. Be sure to have a sturdy surface to grasp onto if you become unstable.

1. Start by standing with your feet close together.
2. Lift one leg off the ground and see if you can hold for 30 seconds.
3. Switch legs and try again.

Sleeping is an essential part of maintaining good physical and mental health.

Without enough sleep, your balance can be thrown off, leading to increased fatigue, impaired concentration, and decreased motivation. Studies have shown that lack of sleep can decrease activity level and coordination, which can affect balance.
