For those who don’t know, Animal Kingdom Brace & Limb, located in Delray Beach, FL, is a sister company of Falk Prosthetics & Orthotics Inc., delivering specialized prosthetic and orthotic care to 1, 2, 3, and 4-legged animals. Over the month of June, Animal Kingdom Brace & Limb teamed up with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, the largest cage-free, no-kill dog rescue in the U.S., to help give one very special pup a brand new outlook on life.
This is Charlie. A 2-year-old German Shepherd with three legs… and an unstoppable spirit. Charlie came to Big Dog Ranch Rescue (BDRR) in Florida after a traumatic injury in Georgia led to the amputation of his right front leg. That’s when Animal Kingdom Brace & Limb teamed up with BDRR, the largest cage-free, no-kill dog rescue in the country, to give Charlie a whole new outlook on life.
Justin Kuntze, a practitioner who works for Falk Prosthetics & Orthotics as well as Animal Kingdom Brace & Limb, worked closely with Charlie’s care team to create a custom-fit prosthetic leg just for him.
On July 10th, Charlie was fit with his new leg. And he didn’t just walk… he ran, jumped, and lit up the space and people around him - even bringing them to tears.
He’s still adjusting, but Charlie has all the energy in the world; and a bright, joy-filled life ahead.
We’re thrilled to share that Charlie is heading to his forever home. A life full of love, play, and possibility. At Falk, we believe every life, human or animal, deserves to move forward.
