Sunset Beach Yoga provides light education on the practice/observance and philosophy of hatha Yoga + a 90 min suggestive guidance (vinyasa) asana flow to liberate stress, increase overall health/vitality, breathe better, increase flexibility, and over-all quality of human life-experience, to FEEL, and "Know" (beyond thinking) our inherent connection (non-divisibility) with and AS nature, the Uni-verse, "each-other," and sometimes having a blissful laugh about it all ;)
All SBY events are by donation... We believe in everyone having access to the education that liberates us from STRESS!

Hello Sunset Beach Yogis!!! …WOWWWW…..
So first- I’m so sorry this page suddenly disappeared. 4 months ago now!
I know many of you probably wondered where SBY went… along with me even! 🙃 Some of you sought me out, and found me/us, which I am grateful you took the time to do so 🙏🏻 (for those who didn’t have the chance- Please scroll down & enter your email in my linktree ASAP so we don’t lose contact again 😭)

Essentially one day out of the blue, my IG was unjustly disabled due to a SERIOUS & offensively WRONG Met@ AI error… Because my Facebook was linked with my IG, everything was taken down. No warning. I was only given an email informing me of the claim, as well as the option to “appeal” by clicking a single button… From there I was left to the mercy of the met@ system…
I had naive expectations it would be resolved in the stated 24-48 hour response time that was given, esp because it was so obvious of a mistake… But to my demise, as I researched, I discovered that this situation is scarily not uncommon, and it is not only not the case for ppl to receive the prompt response, but in many cases, are never even given one… And end up losing their accounts for good. I admittedly wasn’t ok to just give up and accept the injustice… However, I also knew I would have to be ok if my efforts did not lead to me getting 16 years of a lot of my life’s work & networks unjustly taken away.
In a nutshell- I’m not sure if it was due to the various actions pursued (which took up a lot of time & life force) or simply the slow moving “appeal” system of this giant corporation finally coming through… Either way, my accounts were FINALLY “freed” and restored and the “error” was admitted…

I do understand that Met@ is wanting to take affirmative action to “protect their community” but if the system (and TECH used) is so inefficient that it ends up inadvertently HURTING a lot of community members (as this is sadly not an uncommon mistake,) I can’t help but bring up A. The use of the system (and the AI tech itself) and B. The depth of our own bond & reliance of these platforms.

It has brought up a lot of reflection for me…
And also made me truly grateful for the STRENGTH of this community- Sunset Beach Yoga- even being off of social media!

With that said, I’m also grateful to be able to utilize this tool for sharing with you all again.
And I look forward to catching up with some of you who maybe didn’t know how else to find me 😌

Wow what a week it’s been! 5 days has felt like a month! The Untethered Retreat this past weekend was beyond words… 🥹💞🙏🏼 Truly, what an incredible experience & group of people it was. My heat is so filled & I can’t wait to do it again. Stay tuned for the October dates! I have a feeling the next one is going to fill quickly!!

I am on my way back South now and looking forward to leading SBY *TONIGHT at 6pm!*
I will also teach *this Friday 6pm* (weather permitting) before I leave AGAIN for my family trip to Minnesota on Saturday and will return on the 11th.
I will have subs for my classes while I’m away with the exception of Friday 8/8- I will be Streaming a LIVE CLASS on my YouTube channel for you all- from MN! I will post the link for that in the SBY whatsapp & meetup when I set it up. If you are not a member of either I would highly recommend joining to get all schedule updates (Text or DM directly for WhatsApp group)
I may also lead an online class on Tuesday (the 5th) or Wednesday (the 6th) as well- Exact times to be determined- might even be a morning class.

SUNSET BEACH YOGA is a donation based community outlet/inlet and meetup group established in 2010 directed & led by @wanderingheartist Jessica Om. Other skilled and experienced local community teachers also lead the practice while Jessica is traveling. Sunset Beach Yoga provides light education and guidance on the practice/observance of Yoga + a 75-90 min suggestive guidance (vinyasa) asana flow to liberate stress, increase overall health/vitality, breathe better, increase flexibility, and over-all quality of human life-experience, to FEEL, and "Know" (beyond thinking) the inherent connection (non-divisibility) with and AS nature, the Uni-verse, "each-other," and real-eye-zing fear based patterns and stories and sometimes getting to laugh about it :-D Why there is no set fee?... Jessica believes everyone should have the right to access yoga and beneficial human-life-education. Namaste
