Say ✌🏻bye to HEADACHE pain with SCM Massage!🙇🏻

Did you know that one of the most effective ways to alleviate those nagging tension headaches could be right in your neck? Massaging the Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle can work wonders for headache relief! 💆‍♂️💆‍♀️ Most headaches can be traced back to a stubborn lil SCM, a true pain in the neck!

What is the SCM? 🤔
It’s a prominent muscle in your neck that helps turn and flex your head. When it gets tight, it can contribute to headaches, jaw & neck pain, making your day-to-day life uncomfortable.

Benefits of SCM Massage for Headaches:
1. Relieves Tension Headaches: Reducing tension in the SCM muscle can significantly lessen the frequency and intensity of headaches. 🌤️
2. Improves Neck Mobility: Tightness in the SCM can restrict neck movement. Regular massage can restore flexibility and ease of movement. 🦢
3. Reduces Referred Pain: Tight SCM muscles can cause pain to radiate to the jaw, head, and shoulders. Massage helps alleviate this referred pain. 🌈
4. Enhances Blood Flow: Increased circulation to the SCM muscle aids in healing and reduces inflammation. ❤️
5. Promotes Relaxation: Massage isn’t just physical relief; it’s also a mental break. Reduce stress and promote overall well-being. 🧘‍♀️

How to Self-Massage Your SCM:
1. Gently turn your head to one side to make the SCM muscle more prominent on the opposite side of the neck.
2. Use your fingertips to apply gentle, circular motions along the length of the muscle.
3. Gradually increase pressure as the muscle begins to relax.
4. Alternatively, gently pinch the muscle between your thumb and fingers, moving along its length.

I’ve only introduced my practice and not myself…

Hey there 👋🏻 I’m Darielle, mom to 3 wild, loving boys boys; they are my entire heart & world. While i spent my first 10 years of motherhood as a stay at home mom, business owner, supportive wife, I realized my own needs and desires in life were buried, only covered by expectation. My message is: It’s never too late.

“Darielle’s desire to help others was apparent from an early age. Passions tend to be fueled by our own story and Darielle’s story began early on with her own need to heal. Throughout her teens, she developed an appreciation and connection with the body and the immense joy felt from movement. Weight training at age 16 became an outlet during some difficult years. Since 2006, Darielle has been studying and immersing herself in all things anatomy and physiology. By age 20, she was an NASM & NSCA certified trainer and a gym owner w her ex in her early 30’s. She brings her extensive knowledge and love of the body, combined with her passion for healing and helping others, to her massage therapy practice.

An unexpected avenue Darielle has found herself going down in her massage therapy practice, is the appreciation for our nervous system. The benefits brought on by massage and activating our parasympathetic system to get our whole selves out of that prolonged “fight or flight” mode, the space a majority of us find ourselves in daily. The healing properties of massage therapy can truly transform us from the inside out. For years Darielle yearned to focus on helping taut muscles recover or joints move more freely; but in fact, it’s been the person as a whole that speaks to her.

This drove the inspiration for her massage therapy practice, Shore to Heal Massage Therapy, once finding the ocean playing a major role in her own healing journey. When asked why not offer mobile in-home visits, Darielle believes to receive the full benefits of Massage Therapy, one should allow that mental “escape” & stillness. While that type of service works for many, Darielle wanted to cultivate a space that would allow her clients to disconnect from the stressors & triggers of daily life, while reconnecting with themselves.”
