Our Story
Advocare geriatric care services roots took hold in 2001 when Amy Seigel began her private medical advocacy work.
Amy is a graduate of University of Miami Nursing School where she earned her BSN. She is a Registered Nurse (RN), a Certified Case Manager (CCM), and has held a certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN).
Born and raised in New York, Amy found that she was receiving phone calls from extended family and friends in the northeast, asking for geriatric care services when senior parents and grandparents became ill. As a rehab nurse with elder care expertise and knowledge of South Florida health care resources she was able to intervene and get results. She realized that, with her unique skills, she was able to help families get to best doctors, facilities, therapies and other aging life care services in a timely manner. Her proactive style of diplomatic advocacy helped families to cut through the red tape of the care and recovery process. Her watchful eye not only saved time and money, but also resulted in significantly more positive medical outcomes for clients.
With a mission of “advocacy for optimal care,” Amy formed Advocare.
Her passion began to attract a team of like-minded, credentialed geriatric care services professionals who shared her enthusiasm for assisting the elderly or chronically ill and optimizing the care and recovery process. Advocare is expert at navigating the health care system including deciphering insurance benefits, resources and guiding families on “next steps.”
