Just last week, I was brainstorming ideas of how I can make my work accessible to ALL. I was considering designating one day/weekend a month where I offer my 60 and 90 min sessions at a reduced rate. This has been a tricky topic for me to navigate, as I believe that everyone should have equitable access to quality healthcare. However, I must also make a living wage myself while honoring my time, commitment, investments, knowledge, and skills.

For the remainder of the time BodySpeaks is open, I’m offering a deep discount of $50 off for 60, 90, and 120 minute sessions. This is only for clients within Volusia County. As always, my rates are all-inclusive and account for any upgrades and travel fees. If you or someone you know are interested in taking advantage of this deal, please visit www.bodyspeaks.net for booking. Please note that the regular price will be on display for booking, however, the rate will be adjusted upon final payment. Cash payment only, please. I hope this finds you well. My heart is breaking to write this, but I’ll unfortunately be dissolving my business by the end of this month. With the upcoming effects of recent events plus the steady increase of various fees, rates, and taxes, I’ve had to make this decision. I’ll still be around with Advent and mentoring up and coming therapists. I hope to revive BodySpeaks one day soon. Thank you to everyone who supported me in this journey of truly pursuing my dream. Never forget that how you’re able to show up in life is a direct reflection of how you feel and show up in your body. You deserve to feel regulated and cared for, in ways only compassionate and intelligent touch can provide. Take care out there, folks.

Hey folks! I’m still here. Life gets hectic, and social media and content creation tends to take a back seat for me. I have ideas and new things coming for 2025, though, so keep an eye out. BodySpeaks will be *2* years old in January! 2025 also marks 17 years in bodywork and wellness, and I’m so incredibly thankful to those of you who’ve supported me and my dream. I can hardly believe it's been a whole year since my dream was officially born. So, so much thanks and gratitude to my clients and for anyone who engaged with me on social media or passed along a word or business card. Thank you to my family for all of your support and patience as I added yet another thing to our already overflowing plate. I love all of you so much.
What's on the horizon for BodySpeaks in 2024?! I have a few ideas. One thing's for sure, I'm going to keep bringing top quality massage therapy, bodywork, and education to my community. I can't wait to bring you along with me!

Yesterday, as I worked slooooowwwly and gently on a client who had a recent traumatic incident, I got to witness yet again how massage therapy is, hands down, the BEST approach to unlocking and allowing the body to LET GO.
There are many, many outlandish claims, gimmicks, and nonsensical narratives around what massage therapy and bodywork may or may not do. This post isn't to speak on those as much as it is to highlight the sheer ease and unraveling that can happen during and after a well-executed session. I've seen it hundreds, maybe thousands, of times. It's simple; all you need is the willingness to give your time, patience, and an openness to surrender. Connecting with and engaging the nervous system in this way so that it can communicate SAFETY to the body is key 🔑
It doesn't require fancy tools, techniques, etc.. Only presence and intention, on both the practitioner and the client's behalf. I use my hands as a whisper to reassure the body that it's safe, keeping mindful of all elements of the session and the environment. Our nervous systems are highly intelligent and capable of sensing things outside of our immediate awareness. Anything that is too much, too fast, too soon can be perceived as trauma by our nervous system, which then gets reflected throughout the body. Massage therapy and bodywork play a key role in restoring, again, a sense of safety in the body, not just mentally and emotionally, but physiologically.
Look around at the world we're living in today. We have messages of danger ALL around us. Lots of too much, too fast, too soon, at every turn it seems.
