Our clinics are participating in a research study on dry needling treatment for knee osteoarthritis. We are asking for 9 participants. You can be considered to participate if you are 50+ of age, has knee pain for more than 3 months, stiffness in the knee joint in the morning. You can not participate in the study if you received any treatments for the knee in last 4 weeks, had surgery in the lower extremity in last 12 months, with Worker's Comp, and if you are involved in litigation. What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a treatment technique that inserts a thin monofilament needles, commonly known as acupuncture needles, through the skin without medication. Dry needling technique targets muscles, tendon, fascia, and other soft tissues.
Why Dry Needling?
Dry needling is safe, and has very little bad side-effects compared to drugs. Dry needling is effective in stimulating body's own healing abilities without use of medication. Has the ability to lower pain level without use of narcotics.
