As of July 25, 2025, New Mexico has confirmed 96 measles cases statewide — including new cases in Luna County, impacting even the Deming area.
⚠️ Most recently, five detainees at the Luna County Detention Center (in Deming) tested positive, and eight additional cases have been reported in the county.
🧠 What You and Your Family Should Know
Measles spreads easily through the air, often before a rash shows. If you're unvaccinated or unsure, you're at risk.
Vaccines are one of the safest, most effective ways to protect children from serious illnesses like measles, whooping cough, and more.
With school just around the corner, health officials emphasize the importance of vaccination before children return to classrooms.
