Potential Ice Alert for Iberville Parish this weekend! Be Prepared! ❄️ 🌨️

Winter weather is possible in our area this weekend. While ice events are rare for South Louisiana, even light icing can impact roads, power, and pipes. Now is the time to prepare.

✅ Protect Your Pipes: Wrap exposed pipes and let faucets drip to prevent freezing.
✅ Stock Up: Grab essentials like groceries, water, batteries, and medications.
✅ Stay Warm: Check your heaters, bundle up, and bring pets indoors! Wear hats, gloves, scarves, and waterproof boots to stay warm and dry.
✅ Be Safe on Roads: Drive only if necessary. Slow down and avoid bridges and overpasses, which can freeze quickly.
✅ Emergency Kit: Keep flashlights, blankets, and a first-aid kit handy.
✅ Stay Informed: Follow us for updates and check weather alerts regularly.
✅ Check on Neighbors: Especially elderly or vulnerable neighbors—lend a hand if needed!
✅ Clear Walkways: Sprinkle sand or salt to prevent slipping on icy steps and sidewalks.
✅ Know Emergency Contacts: Save local utility numbers and Iberville Parish emergency services in case of issues.

We will share updates as conditions develop. Preparing now helps keep our community safe if temperatures drop lower than expected. Together, we can navigate this frosty weather safely.

Stay warm and stay safe, Iberville!
