Your spine works hard for you, even when you’re just sitting at your desk. In the U.S. alone, 264 million workdays are lost each year due to back pain, and sitting for more than six hours a day can increase your risk of lower back pain by up to 50%. Poor posture at your desk might be one of the most underestimated causes of spinal misalignment and fatigue.

At Texas Back Institute, our team is dedicated to educating and empowering individuals during Spine Health Awareness Month to take proactive steps for a healthier spine, at work and beyond. Behind every successful spine surgery is extensive preparation, collaborative teamwork, and unwavering dedication to patient care. This year’s fellow class has been hard at work learning how and when to implement the most effective surgical techniques to treat patients’ back pain.
This week, our fellows trained in the Simulation Laboratory with Dr. Adewale Adeniran and Dr. Uche Davidson, learning advanced open decompression surgery techniques using Realists models.
These simulated training sessions are just one of the approaches taken to help ensure that when our patients walk through the doors at Texas Back Institute, they are treated by surgeons who are not only knowledgeable but deeply prepared to provide the best outcomes possible.
