QiGong is an excellent complement to western treatments for lowering stress and increasing the immune system. Serene Harvest is offering classes and work-shops in The DaMo form, Nei Dan (step I) and Wai Dan, (step II), Organ Cleansing and Strengthening QiGong - Zhang Fu Gong and Radiant Lotus QiGong for women. The classes and workshops include theoretical teaching, practice exercise, and course handouts with Medical Qigong information and “how to” guidelines. Meditation. Meditation refers to any of a family of practices in which the practitioner trains his or her mind or self-induces a mode of consciousness along with the awareness of the breath in order to realize some benefit. With the hectic pace and demands of modern life, many people feel stressed and over-worked. It often feels like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done. Our stress and tiredness make us unhappy, impatient and frustrated. It can even affect our health. We are often so busy we feel there is no time to stop and meditate! But meditation actually gives you more time by making your mind calmer and more focused. A simple ten or fifteen minute breathing meditation can help you to overcome your stress and find some inner peace and balance. Meditation can also help us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. Overcoming negative minds and cultivating constructive thoughts is the purpose of the transforming meditations found in the Buddhist tradition. This is a profound spiritual practice you can enjoy throughout the day, not just while seated in meditation. Maria Silén is certified as a Level III Advanced QiGong Instructor by National QiGong of America. She has studied and taught co-ed programs for practitioners in Medical QiGong since 2002 and later with a special emphasis on women’s health through Radiant Lotus Women’s QiGong program. She sees the unlimited potential of practitioners when they are able to free themselves of self-doubts and fears that interfere with their peace of mind and their capacity to manifest radiant health, peaceful mind, and joyful spirit. Maria has had the privilege to study Medical QiGong under the direction of Richard Sulikowski and Dr. Gabrielle Gauthier-Hernberg, the founders of Mediqi Akademien in Scandinavia, Dr Stewart Mariou, of Dallas, Texas, Master Wan Su-Jian of Beijing, China, and Daisy Lee of Hawaii, founder of Radiant Lotus QiGong, among others. Maria has practiced and studied Medical QiGong and Meditation since 1996. Throughout the years of practice, QiGong and Meditation has developed into a life style. She continues to learn from her teachings and attempts to apply QiGong to all aspects of everyday life. It has provided her with energy, harmony, strength, and radiant health, and it is her desire to guide and assist others to discover how QiGong can help improve different aspects of a person’s life. Maria teaches Medical Qigong, the DA-MO method, Nei Dan, Wai Dan and Meditation mainly in workshops, intense-comprehensive courses at University level (January term, one month course at Austin College, Sherman, Texas), and classes and personal sessions at divers places. From March 2011, she also offers Radiant Lotus QiGong for Women in both the USA and in Sweden. Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong is here to support women in their personal development and self-healing knowledge. The practice consist of dynamic yet gentle Qigong techniques such as; acupressure, stimulate & activate meridians with shaking, cupping and self-massage, along with emotional stress release techniques, slow movements and mindful breath work to enhance your life,

Suddha Yoga, Kaya Sampat Kriya (KsK) and Prana Karma. The purpose of Kaya Sampat Kriya (KSK) is clearly indicated by its component terms: kaya – body (the five bodies of essence, bliss, form, qualities, and activities); sampat(ti) - welfare, success, accomplishment, fulfillment, attainment, good state or condition, excellence; and kriya - action, practice. Thus, KSK means Practice for Integral Excellence. KSK consists of actions (kriyas) that constitute a well-rounded psycho-physical fitness practice. Popularized in the West in a much diminished form as the ostensible "Five Tibetan Rites" of the fictitious Colonel Bradford, KSK is the distillation of the confluence of centuries of ancient Indian, Chinese, and Tibetan yoga. Known in Tibet as Tsa lung, Trul khor, and Yantra Yoga, KSK is a yoga practice of the Suddha Lineage that includes self-massage and acupressure, postures, stretching, dynamic movement, breathwork, gestures, locks, mantra recitation, progressive relaxation, and meditative contemplation, to center the practitioner and align body, energy, and mind. KSK honor the practitioner's faculties and supports the manifestation of natural perfection. The practice of Suddha Yoga entails deepening practice through three subsequent levels: the Form, Energy, and Mind Sequences. KSK is a complete practice cycle, and is sufficient to achieve and maintain total body-mind fitness. No previous experience or fitness level is required. There is no competition, no striving, and no ultimate goal to be attained. All can derive benefit from the practice. Prana Karma - Life Force Therapy is the most distinctive and effective therapeutic modality in Shuddha Ayurveda. It corrects and enhances the flow of prana (life force) throughout the organism, increasing stamina and promoting rapid healing. Pranakarma sessions are administered fully clothed. You rest while the Prana Karma therapist preforms the Prana Karma for about an hour. Besides teaching QiGong, Maria studies and teaches Ayurveda Suddha (pure) Yoga, KSK, Meditation, and performs the healing form of Prana Karma under the direction of the linage holder Tashi Nyima of Dallas, Texas. Maria has been teaching Yoga since 2002 at diverse places both in the USA and in Sweden.

💚 The Liver–Lymph Highway: How Hepatic Lymph Shapes Detox 💚

When we think about detox, the liver usually steals the spotlight — and rightly so. It filters toxins, processes hormones, and manages everything from alcohol to medication. But here’s the secret most people don’t know: the liver and the lymphatic system are inseparable partners in detoxification.

🩸 Did you know?

Up to 50% of the body’s lymph originates in the liver. This makes the liver the single largest source of lymphatic fluid in the body. That fluid carries proteins, fats, immune signals, and waste products away from the liver into the larger lymphatic network.

👉 If the liver is congested or inflamed, it doesn’t just strain detox pathways — it can actually slow the entire lymphatic system down.

🌿 How the Liver & Lymph Work Together
1. Waste Collection
• The liver filters toxins, old hormones, and metabolic byproducts from the blood.
• These are then carried into lymphatic fluid for transport.
2. Fat Absorption & Chyle
• The liver works with intestinal lymph (chyle) to process fats and fat-soluble toxins.
• Congested liver lymph = poor fat digestion, bloating, heaviness after meals.
3. Immune Defense
• The liver is packed with immune cells (Kupffer cells) that communicate directly with lymph.
• A sluggish liver = higher inflammatory load in the lymphatic system.

⚠️ Signs the Liver–Lymph Highway is Backed Up
• Puffy face, swollen ankles, or abdominal bloating
• Brain fog or fatigue after fatty meals
• Persistent skin breakouts or rashes
• Tenderness under the right rib cage
• Chronic sinus or lymph node congestion

🌟 Supporting the Highway

To keep the liver–lymph connection flowing smoothly:
• Hydration 💧 → Lymph is 96% water.
• Movement & Deep Breathing 🌬️ → Helps pump lymph from the liver through the thoracic duct.
• Castor Oil Packs 🌿 → Improve circulation around the liver and gut lymphatics.
• Anti-inflammatory Nutrition 🥗 → Cruciferous veggies, bitters, and fiber support bile + lymph flow.
• Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) 🤲 → Gentle stimulation around the abdomen helps open lymph pathways.

✨ The Takeaway

The liver and lymphatic system form a detox highway that’s crucial for whole-body health. If the liver is overburdened, the lymph struggles. And if the lymph is stagnant, the liver’s workload multiplies. Supporting both means better energy, clearer skin, lighter digestion, and stronger immunity.

🌊 Lymphangions: The Hidden Hearts of Your Lymphatic System

When most people think about circulation, they picture the heart pumping blood through the body. But what if I told you your lymphatic system also has its own tiny pumps — quietly working day and night to keep your body in balance?

Those pumps are called lymphangions, and once you understand how they work, you’ll never look at your body the same way again.

💚 What Exactly Are Lymphangions?

Think of your lymph vessels as rivers carrying away waste, toxins, and excess fluid. Along these rivers are small muscular segments called lymphangions.
• Each lymphangion sits between two one-way valves, like little doors that only open forward.
• They contract rhythmically — about 4–10 times per minute — gently pushing lymph fluid in the right direction.
• Together, they form a chain of “mini-hearts,” ensuring your lymph keeps flowing even while you sleep.

This means your lymphatic system is not just passive. It is alive, pulsing with rhythm and purpose.

🌿 Why Do They Matter for Your Health?

When lymphangions work well:
✔️ Waste and toxins are cleared efficiently
✔️ Swelling goes down
✔️ Your immune system stays strong
✔️ Your skin looks brighter and healthier

But when they slow down:
❌ Lymph stagnates → swelling in the arms, legs, or face
❌ Inflammation increases → fatigue, pain, and “heaviness” in the body
❌ Detox slows → you feel sluggish and weighed down

🌬️ How to Support Your Lymphangions

The good news? You can actively help your lymphangions pump better:
1. Movement is medicine 🏃‍♀️
Walking, stretching, or gentle bouncing activates and speeds up lymphangion contractions.
2. Deep breathing 🌬️
Diaphragmatic breathing lowers pressure in the chest and abdomen, encouraging lymph to move.
3. Hydration 💧
Lymph fluid is mostly water. Dehydration makes it thicker and harder to pump.
4. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) 💆‍♀️
Gentle therapeutic massage techniques stimulate lymphangions, opening pathways for flow.
5. Self-care rituals 🌸
Dry brushing, castor oil packs, and anti-inflammatory nutrition all reduce the load on your lymph system.

✨ The Takeaway

Your lymphatic system is a masterpiece of design. It’s not silent or stagnant — it beats with a rhythm of its own, thanks to lymphangions.

So the next time you feel your body’s heaviness, remember: there are tiny pumps working tirelessly within you. And with a little support — movement, hydration, and intentional care — you can help them flow with strength, bringing healing and lightness to your whole body.
