Hooray! Help us celebrate these incredible milestones of three of our staff members.

⭐ Kaden Ashcraft, RCIS, is a tech in our cardiac catheterization lab and is now a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). We have had several nurses achieve this advanced certification, but Kaden is our first tech to have set the goal to pass the test. Way to go, Kaden!

⭐ Tara Petty, BSN, RN, is a nurse with our Quality Department, but she has also achieved her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Join us in congratulating her in taking this next step in furthering her education. We are so proud of you, Tara!

⭐ Justin Armas, RN, ONC, is a nurse on our 6th floor where we care for patients after they undergo joint replacement surgery or are recovering from an orthopedic injury. So, it's with great pride that we share that Justin has earned his orthopedic advanced certification for nurses. Congrats Justin!

Check back as we share even more degrees and advanced certifications earned by our team members!

In the spirit of celebrating , we are pleased to announce that Peyton Gravley, BSN, RN, CCRN, CSC, is the latest recipient of the DAISY Foundation Award. We are honored to share the touching nomination we received:

“Peyton provided extraordinary compassion during one of the most difficult moments a family can face. While caring for a critically ill patient on life support in the CVICU, Peyton went far beyond clinical excellence—she truly cared for the entire family. When the patient’s daughter arrived, overwhelmed with fear and emotion, Peyton immediately stepped in and wrapped her in the warmest, most genuine embrace. The daughter was shaking and in tears, and Peyton held her with such compassion, allowing her to feel safe, supported, and not alone in that moment. It was a powerful reminder that nursing is not just about treating patients, but about caring for people.

Throughout the shift, Peyton remained a steady, reassuring presence for both the patient’s wife and daughter. She answered every question with patience, kindness, and honesty, ensuring they understood what was happening while also providing comfort during an incredibly uncertain time. Her ability to balance high-level critical care with such deep emotional intelligence is truly remarkable. Peyton not only delivered exceptional care to her critically ill patient, but she also created space for the family to grieve, process, and feel supported. Her compassion, empathy, and dedication embody what it truly means to be a nurse.”

We are so grateful to have amazing nurses like Peyton choose Texoma Medical Center. We’d love to hear about your experience with an exceptional TMC nurse. Fill out our online nomination form here: https://texomamedicalcenter.net/nominate-extraordinary-nurse/

You spoke, and we listened! Last fall, we shared that we had added new sleeper couches to the postpartum rooms at The Birth Place. Many of you told us they would be a welcome addition to our Labor & Delivery suites as well. We’re proud to share that they have now been delivered and are already a welcome upgrade to our spacious, family-friendly delivery rooms.

Being a family medicine resident requires a tremendous amount of hands-on training across a wide range of disciplines. This week, our residents and Graduate Medical Education faculty welcomed back a graduate of our program, Dr. Matthew Terhark, Class of 2019, who, along with his peers from Concord Medical Group, taught a course on emergency and critical care training. Experiences like this ensure the next generation of physicians is prepared to provide the preeminent care our region has come to expect from Texoma Medical Center.

When it comes to highlighting how much TMC Volunteers mean to hospital staff, administrators, patients, visitors and the Texoma region, words are not enough. Each year, the hospital recognizes their service by hosting the annual Volunteer Awards Banquet during National Volunteer Week.

The event was held at Venue at 84 West. Following lunch, hospital leaders presented volunteers with special pins and bars recognizing cumulative service hours ranging from 100 to 31,000 hours. Several volunteers were also recognized for milestone service anniversaries, including 10, 15 and 20 years.

If you see a TMC volunteer, please thank them for supporting the hospital and the community.
