PLEASE DRIVE SAFE ON THESE ROADS!!
The first post I saw this morning on Facebook was about another head on collision on Hwy 109…if you travel 109 you will notice the many memorials where lives have been lost on that road..and it’s one of the straightest roads I’ve ever driven- there is absolutely zero reason for those lives to be lost.
Years ago a little girl that lived here with her family was killed in a car crash right in front of this property. I think of her little life lost so early on at least weekly. My own daughter was hit by someone as she was pulling out of the driveway here a few years ago.. I thank God she wasn’t killed. I think of that every time we pull out of the driveway.
There are animals that are loved by families that occasionally get out on these country roads. There are innocent little children getting off of the school bus on this road. There are deer on these roads. There are postal workers and delivery workers that are simply working to make sure that we all receive our mail and packages that want to make it home to their families. There are elderly people getting their mail on this road. There are new drivers that have a whole lifetime ahead of them on these roads that are driving to school or home from a friend’s house. There are farmers on their tractors and homeowners mowing and keeping up their properties to make this community more beautiful.
Just please- please- please be mindful that people live out here that love this community. It’s not a racetrack, it’s not a safe meet up spot, and it certainly isn’t a good idea to lay out on any highway these days to work on your vehicle.
If just being mindful saves your life or the life of an innocent person or animal wouldn’t that be worth it?! There is just no reason in the world for people to drive like they do these days.
