I don’t know about anyone else...but as much as I’m looking forward to “getting back to normal”...I don’t really know what “normal” means now, and that’s playing havoc with my anxiety.

I have definitely felt increased anxiety while out and about as more folks start to gather.

It’s hard to go from social distancing to social interaction (almost) overnight. Our brains have been primed to avoid close contact with anyone outside all but our smallest social groups for over a year!

The system has a built-in lag and regaining a sense of safety takes time..

Mind Matters is a nonprofit organization that provides low cost comprehensive mental health services to those with no access to mental health due to limited financial resources or a lack of healthcare coverage. Additionally, Mind Matters builds the next generation of diverse & inclusive mental health professional by providing training and experiential learning opportunities.The Mind Matters therapy program focuses on providing specialized mental health services to populations who often go unserved, including: Deaf/Hard of Hearing populations, including Deaf culture and basic ASL. Queer/Trans populations, including assessment and gender affirming care. Musicians and Artists, including issues related to identity and vocation. Other underserved populations, including trauma survivors, s*x workers, undocumented immigrants, and cultural/linguistic minorities.
