Every Month Is Black History Month Because Black History IS American History.

Angela Davis – Black Panther Leader, Author
During her time in jail in the 1970s, Angela Davis turned to yoga as a way to maintain her mental and physical well-being. The practice provided her with a sense of calm and focus amidst the intense pressure and uncertainty of incarceration. Yoga offered Davis a form of inner strength, helping her cope with the isolation and stress of being wrongfully imprisoned. She later spoke about how the practice not only helped her physically but also deepened her sense of resilience and connection to her inner peace during a challenging chapter in her life.

Happy Birthday to Kasey, one of our amazing instructors! Kasey is a longtime practitioner of yoga and a graduate from our Bloom Yoga School Teacher Training program! She believes in yoga’s power to decrease anxiety through breathwork and create an inner calm that facilitates our connection to the mind, heart and body. Kasey offers a nurturing and inclusive space for yogis to embrace their uniqueness. Her classes will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed yet revitalized. We are so proud of you and excited to celebrate you Kasey! Happy Birthday!

You can join Kasey for Gentle on Mondays at 7:00 PM and Tuesdays at 9:00 AM.

We are so excited to welcome Danny to our instructor/sub team!!! He will be subbing this Saturday at 7:30 am ✨

A little about Danny:

“About 15 years ago I took the plunge into doing yoga, and little did I know it would begin a whole new chapter in my life. Initially it was just another workout option to get back in shape but in short time it was all I wanted to do. I was hooked. After several years of a dedicated practice I looked back and saw how my yoga journey had transformed me physically as well as mentally. I wanted to delve deeper into it and also thought perhaps I could share this journey with others, showing them all the possibilities. In 2016 I completed my 200-hour training and have been teaching my vinyasa flow ever since. I happily tell people I am that complete yoga cliche: having this amazing practice transform my life, and sharing with others how it could transform theirs“

Rosa Parks - Civil Rights Leader
Rosa Parks, widely known for her pivotal role in the civil rights movement, also had a deep appreciation for yoga. In her early fifties, she began practicing yoga to maintain both physical and mental balance amidst the challenges she faced. Yoga provided her with a form of relaxation and strength, helping her manage the stress of activism and the personal toll of her experiences. Yoga was so helpful to Parks that she shared the practice with others in her community. Through yoga, Parks found a peaceful space to center herself, reflect on her journey, and maintain the resilience that fueled her fight for justice and equality. Parks' example reminds us that a regular yoga practice can be a source of grounding during chaotic, uncertain times.

Welcome, Pisces Season! The Sun has moved into the zodiac sign of Pisces, making this next four weeks an important time to slow down, reflect deeply, and tap into our emotional wisdom. Pisces invites us to turn inward and work creatively with the nonrational elements in our life: our dreams, intuition, emotional intelligence, imagination, and inner Light. This Pisces season is especially busy; it includes a Mercury retrograde, inviting us to self-reflect and think before acting or speaking. Pisces encourages us to go with the flow, imagine boldy, dream big, and make new connections. Things to do during Pisces Season: Take a personal retreat to recharge your batteries. Reexamine your personal boundaries, strengthening those that need strengthened. Be flexible. Spend time in water. Foster your intuition. Cultivate your clairvoyance. Dream big. Make a vision board. Do something creative. Drink lots of water. Practice magic. Go with the flow. Work with Tarot cards, the I Ching, an oracle deck, or another divination system. Pray. Daydream. Nourish your emotions. Embrace contradictions. Get a pedicure. Think empathically. Practice Yin yoga for emotional release.
