Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center is a nonprofit ministry existing to empower individuals and families to make wise life choices financially, relationally, and sexually through the provision of resources, education, and unconditional love. The woman to woman organization consists of three separate entities that work together to complete this mission: The Pregnancy Resource Center, Living Choices, and Twice As Nice Resale. In 1986 the pregnancy center of Denton County officially opened its doors to women in unintended pregnancy situations, giving them a place to find support when there was often nowhere else to turn. And since its inception it has grown to offer even more services for women and families. At the Pregnancy Resource Center women can receive pregnancy verification, STI testing, sonograms, doctor referrals, options counseling on abortion, parenting, and adoption, mentoring, abortion recovery, community referrals and services, birthing and parenting education classes, and even meet the Doctor nights, where pregnant moms can ask questions. All of these services are offered at no cost to the client. The Pregnancy Center also offers a unique program called Earn and Learn, allowing parents-to-be to receive vouchers for every education class they attend. These vouchers can be redeemed in our Life Gifts room for Items they will need when their baby arrives such as diapers, wipes, formula and more. The Pregnancy Resource Center nurse manager operates under the direction of a medical director and a medical advisory council made up of medical professionals within the community. In January of 2001, a new program called Living Choices was created. Living Choices is a sexual risk avoidance program that teaches students how to practice sexual integrity and have healthy relationships through fun and interactive programs, addressing topics such as love vs. infatuation, laws regarding sexual offenses, and other information fostering healthy relationships. Reaching over 3,000 students a year through the public school system, the program strives to drastically reduce the number of unintended pregnancies through the power of education. In 2004 Woman to Woman officially added Twice As Nice Resale to the organization. Twice As Nice Resale is a volunteer driven resale store that sells upscale community donated resale items. All of the proceeds go back into the organization and account for over half of the organizations operating budget! Keeping both the PRC and Living Choices free to the community along with the donations from churches, businesses, and supporters like you. The organization as a whole is governed by a board of directors made up of local business professionals and residents. For over 30 years, Woman to Woman has been impacting North Texas by providing resources, education, and unconditional love to one person or family at a time.

Practicing a Life of Gratitude

As Thanksgiving approaches, I am reminded of how easily gratitude can slip away from us. We want to be thankful, yet the pace of life and unmet expectations can dull our awareness of God’s many blessings. In a recent episode of the Trinity Forum ( #129), Cornelius Plantinga noted that thanksgiving is not just a feeling but a practice. It is a habit of the heart that must be intentionally cultivated.

When I take the time to slow down and pay attention, I am often surprised by how many gifts I’ve overlooked and how God has poured out His blessings in both big and small ways. Practicing gratitude realigns my focus and softens my heart. It reminds me that everything I have is ultimately a gift from God.

This Thanksgiving, may we pause long enough to recognize God’s kindness woven throughout our lives and respond with grateful hearts.
