Leadership Resilience in Times of Change: Thriving Amid Uncertainty
The first full week back at work is always a mix of excitement and challenge. We come in with fresh calendars, new goals, and the hope that this year will be smoother than the last. But if we’ve learned anything in home health and hospice, it’s that change is the only constant. Regulations shift, staffing ebbs and flows, and patient needs never pause. As leaders, our resilience isn’t about avoiding uncertainty, it’s about leaning into it with confidence and clarity. Fresh starts aren’t just about wiping the slate clean; they’re about recommitting to the values that anchor us when everything else feels fluid.

Thriving amid uncertainty means modeling calm in the storm and creating space for your team to adapt without fear. It’s asking, “What can we control today?” and focusing energy there. In our industry, that might mean ensuring documentation stays compliant, supporting clinicians through new processes, or simply reminding your team why their work matters. Resilient leadership doesn’t promise an easy road; it promises a steady hand and a hopeful vision. This week, as we step into a new year, let’s lead with that kind of resilience: grounded, adaptable, and unwavering in purpose.

Reflective Question: What is one small step you can take today to help your team feel confident about the year ahead?

From Resolutions to Results in 2026

As a new year begins, many Americans are thinking about what they want to change, improve, or achieve in 2026.

A recent poll shows that the most common resolutions include exercising more, being happier, eating healthier, and saving money. Many people are also committing to learning something new, improving mental health, and pursuing meaningful career goals. Encouragingly, most respondents believe they are likely to follow through on their goals.

Goals matter because intention drives action.

For home health and hospice organizations, resolutions are more than personal promises. They can be the blueprint for safer care, stronger compliance, improved quality outcomes, and a more supported workforce.

At MAC Legacy, we help organizations turn goals into results. Our consulting, education, and support services are built by a dedicated team of experts who understand the complexity of home health and hospice care and know how to simplify the journey forward.

As we step into 2026, ask yourself: What do you want this year to look like?

Another year of the same, or something meaningfully different?

If you want different results, it takes a different approach. Start 2026 with a trusted partner.

CMS Launches Office of Rural Health Transformation to Boost Rural Care
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has unveiled the new Office of Rural Health Transformation (ORHT) within the Center for Medicaid & CHIP Services—effective December 18, 2025. • Home Health & Hospice providers may access grants to expand care capacity and infrastructure.
• ORHT and its Division of State Rural Engagement will offer direct support, monitoring, and training.
• Providers will benefit from streamlined guidance and collaboration with CMS and state partners.

Quick Facts:
• $50 billion over 10 years to all 50 states

As we close out 2025, we’re grateful for the way you showed up for patients, while keeping quality and compliance front and center. Together, we:

- Kept OASIS‑E1 scoring consistent and defensible
- Protected the plan of care (POC) with clear, patient‑specific documentation
- Reduced rework with clean claims and smarter PDGM grouping
- Stayed survey‑ready under 42 CFR 484 CoPs—even on the busy days
- Tracked outcomes aligned to HHVBP measures, not just activity

Thank you for trusting MAC Legacy to help your teams navigate updates, simplify workflows, and preserve margin without sacrificing clinical intent.

In 2026, expect more of the same evidence‑based guidance, practical education, and tools that make it easier to do the right thing the first time (from OASIS item support to ICD‑10 coding clarity and POC specificity).

Wishing you rest, health, and a strong start to 2026.
The MAC Legacy Team

P.S. Need a quick Q1 readiness check (OASIS consistency + documentation integrity)? Reply “readiness” and we’ll get you scheduled.
