Some while ago I recall I had a very difficult day. I was heading home and wanted ice cream, a definite comfort food of mine.

Trouble is, after a certain amount, sugar is a problem to me and will make any negative mood worse.

I said to myself that I wanted ice cream and something came back from me that said 'Wow, you must really want to feel like garbage.'

I did not go and get ice cream that day.

We all have things that we do that are unhelpful and can make a rotten situation worse. What are some of your poisons and how do you deal with it when you want them anyway?

To grow into the life we want it is good to have a reference point, a roles model. If you know what your role model or ideal self would do, or at least have a decent idea, it is easier to model your behavior after that character.

There are many things for us to stress over. Money, relationships, jobs, the state of society, and even mistakes we have made. While there is a lot that can be done to lessen our stress by good health practices when we find ourselves in a self critical cycle, having to deal with this cruel voice telling us all the terrible and stupid things we done or that will happen, it is time to reflect on simple fact.

That voice is from yourself.

That means it lives in your head.

So it has to play by YOUR rules.

The weight never gets lighter, you become stronger.

Getting up and eating right, taking care of the essentials on your checklist, being the adult when everyone is loosing their head, holding back from shooting your mouth off at yet another stupid comment, doing your workout when it is cold and dark outside, and all the other difficulties that come with building your life and body in a healthy manner, it is tough.

The weight never gets lighter, but you get stronger.

The struggle will always be there, but it gets easier.
