Our Story

Welcome to Metanoia Nutrition! Metanoia Nutrition was established in November 2016 by Emmy Lu Henley, PhD, RDN, LD, CEDRD who specializes in nutrition therapy for those struggling with eating disorders and/or disordered eating. The word “metanoia” means “to change one’s mind” and that is exactly what Dr. Henley strives for with clients regarding nutrition. She works from the belief that disordered eating and eating disorders are not about the food, but instead revolve around a relationship with food and the factors influencing that relationship. Dr. Henley is passionate about helping individuals find freedom from food and related behaviors that may be causing distress in their life, or even consuming their life. She focuses on client individualization to best develop freedom, both mentally and physically, from these struggles. She also values creating a safe and judgment free space for clients to discuss this area of their life that may have never been shared with a professional before. This process may include, but is not limited to: mindfulness activities, challenging distorted food beliefs/fears, educating on healthy nutrition and food behaviors, facilitating food freedom, re-feeding the brain, fostering healthy self-image, and troubleshooting maladaptive behaviors. The focus is to add helpful behaviors/thoughts to promote freedom from disordered behaviors and engage the client with their internal self for healthy living! Dr. Henley is currently accepting appointments for nutrition therapy. Please call or email for more information or to schedule an appointment. She is located in the South Pointe Executive Office Suites at the corner of Avenue U and 82nd Street. Thanks for reading and have a blessed day!

** To prevent any confusion, her PhD is in Nutritional Sciences, and she provides services as a Registered Dietitian.
