Have you heard about the new dementia GUIDE program? Medicare's Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model is designed to help improve the quality of life for seniors living with dementia, as well as help ease the strain on families and unpaid caregivers. This new GUIDE Model does this by offering in-home dementia care and respite care services. This new GUIDE program seeks to improve dementia care by reducing the number of hospitalizations for dementia patients, improving caregiver support, and enabling individuals to remain living safely in their homes for as long as possible. If your loved one has been diagnosed with dementia and meets the eligibility requirements, you can sign up for dementia care support and dementia respite care near you.

At Visiting Angels Denton/Sherman/Decatur, we have partnered with approved providers to offer these dementia care benefits starting July 1, 2025. The Medicare GUIDE program is new, with details still being provided by CMS (U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).
