‼️ALERT‼️Arkansas is considering removing the MBLEx—HELP US FIGHT!

Are you in favor of reducing the value of Arkansas massage therapy education? We aren’t!🙅

Senate Bill 168 (SB 168) would create a state massage therapy licensing exam in place of the MBLEx. The is the national entry-level exam for 46 of the 48 regulated states in the country.

🔗If you think Arkansas should keep the MBLEx, read our blog https://bit.ly/3CFHg5s where we explain how to contact your representatives to oppose SB 168 and the negative impact a state exam may have on the Arkansas massage community.

📣The bill is moving fast, so act now!

Someone has asked me about infants wearing headbands. I am not a big fan. Here is stream of my thoughts.
The bones of the baby's head started out embryologically as both, membrane for the bones at the top or vault of the head, and cartilage for the base bones. The top of the head must be able to conform and have the ability to compress, allowing the head to make it through the birth canal. The base is harder material to protect the brain stem and cranial nerves.
As all you parents know that baby head is soft. Another reason it is soft, to let expansion happen as the brain grows so rapidly.
I don't like headbands because I would not want any compression to happen to the head.
Compression or tension in any part of the head is big. Early on I learned that the Cranial Sacral system is directly related to the ANS, or Autonomic Nervous System. The ANS runs your other systems, ie. heart rate, muscle tone, breathing, sleeping, digestion, immune system, fight or flights, anxiety vs. calm, etc...
Any kinds of tension or issue directly disrupt these systems.
(A little plug here, it is why I have Cranial Sacral Therapy as an equal part of my training.)
Babies with "colic", which I think is dysfunction, I believe the baby got trauma getting born. I work the bones of their head to reduce the trauma. So once again not a big fan of the headbands. Namaste

Amazing how our bodies are organized
And functional

What is the fascia system?

➡️ Fascia is ONE system (organ), without beginning and end that maintains interconnection, communication and interaction between different parts of the body.
(Schleip 2013, Stecco 2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, Langevin 2002, 2006)

➡️ Center of coordination (epimysium) and communication with the whole body
“Fascia is the organ of proprioception, which means that this previously unknown ‘organ’ that encapsulates our entire being plays a lead role in knowing where your body is in space.”
A.Stecco

➡️ Fascia is changing shape /Biotensegrity - (compression and tension)

The fascia system is important to understand because it plays a significant role in the body's movement and function.

It is a complex network of connective tissues that can be affected by tongue ties, which can cause restrictions and affect muscle tone and movement. That’s why it’s important to understand how the fascia system!
