May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
Mental Health Month was established to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans' lives, and to celebrate recovery from mental illness. Mental health is essential for a person's overall health.
Nearly one in five Americans lives with a mental health condition, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.
That includes any mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder such as:
▫️Depression
▫️Anxiety
▫️Mood disorders, including bipolar disorder
▫️Personality disorders
▫️Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia
▫️Trauma
▫️Eating disorders
▫️Substance -use disorders
By fostering mental health awareness, we can help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, encourage early intervention, and support individuals in seeking the help they need to achieve and maintain optimal mental well-being!
