A new three-year agreement has been reached with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. This means all Texas Health and UT Southwestern hospitals, facilities, and employed and affiliated providers are in network. We understand from BCBSTX that it may take several weeks for its system to update. If you received care April 1or after, in-network rates will be honored. You should keep your scheduled appointment and can schedule new visits and be assured that in-network rates will apply.

Matt Jones was living life at full speed when a knee injury had him sidelined. Matt sought the help of Dr. Paul Whatley at Orthopedic Surgery Specialists. After surgery to repair his knee tendon, followed by platelet rich plasma therapy to promote healing, Matt was back doing all of the physical activities that he loves.
Matt is on to his next adventure.
The 45-year-old may best be described as an extreme athlete. Matt is all about being active and finding the next big adventure. He grew up snow skiing, wakeboarding and being outdoors as much as possible. Unfortunately, it was one of his biggest passions that nearly sidelined him several years ago.

When an ankle injury kept Sara Wilson from going on adventures with her grandchildren, she turned to Dr. Stuart Michnick to come up with care plan to get her back to living an active lifestyle. After a minimally invasive outpatient procedure, Sara was back to walking pain free just three months after surgery.
Keeping up with two young grandchildren is a big part of why being mobile is so important to Sara Wilson. It has meant being able to be there as her grandchildren learned to walk and now as they explore parks, playgrounds and other adventures.

Maddie Goin has lived much of her life on a sports field. After an injury had her sidelined, she turned to Dr. Paul Whatley. After ACL reconstruction, Maddie is back to 100 percent and back to her vigorous workouts.
Maddie Goin has lived much of her life on a sports field. She started out playing softball at the age of five. Then came rec league, select league and high school sports. And, just recently, the 22-year-old finished her college softball career at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

Orthopedic Surgery Specialists is part of Texas Health Physicians Group, a network of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing safe, quality care for communities throughout North Texas.
Dr. Bender is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with special interests include adult reconstructive and geriatric orthopedics. He is accomplished in keeping patients active as they age. In addition to addressing all facets of general orthopedics, he treats injuries such as hip fractures; disease and inflammation caused by arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis; and other orthopedic conditions through prevention, safe exercise programs and non-surgical treatments. When surgery is necessary, he is highly-trained in the performance of advanced and minimally-invasive techniques that relieve as much discomfort as possible.
Dr. Whatley is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship trained in sports medicine. Having spent much of his career focused on orthopedic sports medicine and treating athletic-related injuries, he brings a strong commitment to helping his patients through customized ACL reconstruction techniques and arthroscopic procedures for rotator cuff injuries. He treats all shoulder conditions, from those requiring rehabilitation, to arthroscopy, to traditional and reverse total shoulder replacements.
Dr. Larson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He has specialized training in endoscopy for carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist and small joint arthroscopy, and the administration of Xiaflex® for treatment of "Dupuytren's contracture" in the hand and fingers. Larson’s special interests include advanced and minimally-invasive surgical techniques for repair of the hand and wrist, rheumatology, osteoarthritis, and pediatric orthopedics.
