We received a special visit from an old friend!

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Sidney Arrington from For Us Collective back to UBH Denton! Our Business Development Liaison, Haven, gave her a tour of our newly renovated floors and Geriatric Unit.

It was a day full of smiles and reconnecting—Sidney, a former UBH intern, got to catch up with our clinical team and reminisce about her time here. She and James go way back to her intern days, so there were plenty of good stories shared!

Though Sidney has since moved on to private practice, her heart still holds a special place for UBH. We’re excited about the possibility of collaborating again in the future!

PHP vs. IOP — What’s the Difference?

Understanding the levels of care in mental health treatment is key to finding the right support. Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) offer structured, daytime treatment for individuals requiring intensive support, while Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) provide a more flexible, part-time approach to therapy. Each program is designed to meet different needs on the path to recovery.

Zoinks! Our Business Development team transformed into the Mystery Inc. team! 🕵️‍♀️🐾

This week, our amazing Business Development team went all out—dressing up as the iconic Scooby-Doo cast and performing a hilarious skit to recognize the real heroes of the story: our incredible hospital staff! 🏥💙

From Scooby and Shaggy’s antics to Velma’s quick thinking and Fred and Daphne’s teamwork, our team used a little mystery and a lot of heart to celebrate the dedication, compassion and tireless work of our clinical teams and support staff.

👏 The “mystery” may have been fictional—but the admiration and appreciation we have for our hospital staff is 100% real. You make miracles happen every day, and we just wanted to say… “Jinkies, you’re amazing!”

UBH Denton was proud to partner with our amazing friends at Lydia Neighbors for a powerful community event focused on promoting mental health awareness and supporting wellness for all. 💚

Together, we connected with community members, shared vital mental health resources, and had meaningful conversations about breaking the stigma and building a stronger, healthier Denton.

A special highlight of the event was a compelling talk by Rick Rayl, Director of Pharmacy at UBH Denton, who shared important insights on THC and its impact on the brain and our community. His presentation sparked great discussion and helped educate attendees on the broader effects of substance use on mental health.

We were also thrilled to have Haven Pottinger, UBH Liaison for Business Development, in attendance — helping build connections and deepen our commitment to community wellness.

Events like this remind us that mental health is a community effort — and when we come together, we can truly make a difference.

A huge thank you to Lydia Neighbors for their continued dedication and for inviting us to be part of such an impactful day. Here's to more collaboration and continued progress toward a healthier tomorrow!
