Heads up !

A controlled burn is scheduled to take place at UNT's Discovery Park in the east field (Pollinative Prairie) on July 30th from 10am to 12pm.

Please note that burns such as these play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by re-seeding wildflowers, enhancing native plant growth, and minimizing invasive species.

We love a good celebration here in Denton County, especially when it’s for America’s birthday! Fireworks are a big part of the fun, but safety has to come first to protect our families, pets, and neighborhoods.

Before you celebrate, keep these tips in mind:

🔥 Use fireworks only outdoors in a clear, open area
💧 Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby in case of fire
🚫 If a firework doesn’t go off, don’t try to relight it
👀 Always supervise children around fireworks
🐾 Keep pets safe and indoors

Let’s make this Fourth of July safe, fun, and memorable for everyone in Denton County!
