Noticing that your child reacts more strongly to sounds, smells, tastes, and colors? Do they find large crowds overwhelming? Your child may be highly sensitive. Some parents believe adjusting to your highly sensitive child 'spoils' them but research and experience shows different. This may be a phase, it may be a lifelong way of experiencing life, but adjusting to it can make everyone's experience better. Learn some ways to support your highly sensitive child and you may find some support for yourself as well.

Need some specialized support? Dr Pam and Mrs. Christy are play trained and can work with your specific family to identify and adjust to sensitivities in your child.

About 30% of children in class will be highly sensitive to their environment. Teachers can use a questionnaire to identify these children and adapt their teaching accordingly.
