I go to SYTAR to be with friends. And here are two amazing friends, Olivia and Nancy. We gather, we laugh and share and eat and build a unique community.

Sobonfu Some writes: When you don’t have community, you are not listened to; you don’t have a place you can go to and feel that you really belong. You don’t have people to affirm who you are and to support you in bringing forward your gifts.

What are you doing today to build, maintain and create community to support sharing your talents in the world?

Yoga philosophy is an interwoven lifestyle, not just about something that is done on the mat or during meditation. It is living life moment to moment. It is moving from dullness or turmoil into insight. This is modeled so well in the examples of life experiences in the Epics, like the Ramāyāna. How did Rama live life guided by Spirit? Check out our May Ramāyāna workshop: https://www.facebook.com/events/918435463973414

Plan ahead! When we can, we also offer online options for those that can’t come in person.

Thank goodness we have yoga and an abundance of tools. Through the depth of yoga philosophy, this workshop explores the busy-ness of the mind. It is merely doing its job. The only thing is . . . we are more than the mind: Spirit experiencing being in this time of the world. How do we manage? Looking deeply toward the concepts of the vṛtti and the kleśa. What a gift! They are more than philosophy. They are tools to help us live life with more grace.

"Our greatest human adventure is the evolution of consciousness. We are in this life to enlarge the soul, liberate the spirit and light up the brain." Tom Robbins

The trident represents many things. The drum hanging on the front is a damaru. It has two sides so as you swing it, it becomes the rhythm, the dance of life. Have you discovered your rhythm in life?

Multiple paths, yet one goal, to become light, liberated and expand our soul. Just be and live into life’s exploration. Svādhyāya is an opportunity to embrace our wholeness. Join in and explore the journey! https://www.facebook.com/events/1526635821958838 for registration details of the April 18 morning workshop - early registration savings are included.

There is an innate wisdom in our body. As the ancient teachers saw, they documented and developed knowledge about the hand positions. Today, we can consciously choose movements to support our life, moment to moment. And, maybe you too will find that there is wisdom in your hands!

Earliest registration discounts are good through February 21 for our mudrā workshop on March 21.

Contemplating my surroundings. Nature, the flow of the water, the solidness of the earth, the freshness of each breath, the warmth of the sun. And ME, I am part of this great magnificence.

Sometimes it is hard to comprehend the amazing gift we have to be with ourSelf in the moment. Part of Svādhyāya is simply being . . . being in each moment fully.

Join Hansa Knox Johnson in the journey to recognizing what is already present - Svādhyāya: Self Exploration. Save the date for April 18! Early registrations have savings built in: https://pyamandala.com/svadhyaya-self-exploration/

During a morning Satsaṅga at the old studio, we set up a tray of blessings, chanted and offered our "hearts desire" to the fire.

Take time to pause, create intention and offer your intentions to the universe. The intention is complete. Now, we may need to repeat it again and again because often the mind does not "get it" or remember. So repeat until it guides your cellular mind and it shall be so! Have patience as it unfolds. And, expect the unexpected to flow in its unique way!

On January 30th from 6 - 7:30 p.m., as a special experience, there will be a trāṭaka meditation at the home studio. This is part of our 5th Friday Satsaṅga series for 2026.

Winter months are a reminder for all of us to go inward and reflect, to allow inspiration to arise and plant seeds for the rising sun. It is a time of stillness. This satsaṅga will include quiet chanting and a short dharma talk, followed by a Trāṭaka meditation. Trāṭaka is a yoga tool where you gaze at on object. There will be candles available or, if you are inclined, bring something you can gaze at that arouses something within. By request, you may attend online.

This ET is a bit ragged, and his constant message was to "phone home." Home is a place in our heart. The only problem is, the mind does not understand the greatest love of all that resides in your heart.

The mind has defenses to protect itself. Yoga calls these the kleśa. And, inherent in our mind are also vṛtti. They prevent us from phoning home to our truth, we are already Spirit incarnate!

In the February 22nd workshop, Understanding the Mind: Exploring the Vṛtti and Kleśa, we will explore the vṛtti and the kleśa as outlined in the classical raja yoga text, the Yoga Sūtra. Save when you register before 1/24.

Story in Reader’s Digest, from Jennifer Turk: "On our way to a funeral home for the viewing of a friend’s father, I reminded my 3 year old daughter to be quiet and respectful. And she was — right up to the end when she asked, 'mommy, who’s the man in the treasure chest?'"

I want, at the right time, to be considered someone in a Treasure Chest. What about you? What are you doing to make it so?
