GUESS WHOSE BACK…

it’s been a while but our signature scent is back in action and so are we…but like the soft girl summer version of us.

the theme of my summer has been recreating and reconnecting with my rituals; with the intention of getting back into my body and finding the things that light me up again. for me, these candles will be coming with me for my refreshed mediation practice, my new evening wind down rituals and our cozy rainy weather days.

obvi these candles smell amazing but the purchase of one also allows us to continue bringing out programming into schools, detention centers, prisons, shelters, treatment centers and other organizations and non profits in Colorado.

We are so grateful we have made it to another year with the community. We are rolling into our 8th month of this community space with some amazing events.

First up, a new monthly offering! Join and every third Sunday beginning 1/15 for POC Yoga at 12:30p

A LOT has gone down in our q***r community since last circle and the holidays are around he corner. Let’s concrete a cozy space to hold each other.

What is a “healing circe” The practice of coming together in circles to talk and share is as human as can be. Our ancestors sat around fires and center pieces sharing experiences, wisdom and food. The idea behind a healing circle is that each participant is thought of as an equal, bringing their own unique medicine to the group.

Healing happens in relationship with other. Healing happens when we are witnessed. This healing circle invites you to be a part of the community, where you can be witnessed and offer the medicine of witnessing others.

We love a killer spooky season line up and we really made it happen for y’all.

First up, for our q***r friends we are introducing a new monthly offering, Fireside Chats: A Q***r Healing Circle. A safe, cozy space to support and be supported in our q***rness. We know that healing happens in community. This healing circle invites you to be a part of a community. All will be invited to share, to offer support, or simply be a witness. In this circle you can expect to enjoy some tea, open and close with some grounding, and connect with a community as we reflect on experiences unique to our q***r identities. Sharing not required!

Next, is the first of M A N Y to come SELF CARE SATURDAYS. Join us once a month from 10:30a-1:30p for a, choose your own adventure of self care. Choose from one or all of the following in studio offerings:

So you took a self defense class and now you feel ready to take on the world? We love that for you, boo. Anddddd let’s pause for a moment. We know how badass and empowering self defense classes can feel and WE LOVE TEACHING THEM. We also REALLY love seeing you again and again.

We exist to support you in really gaining new skills and knowledge. We of course never wish you to be in a self defense situation and if it ever happens we want you to know all the ways your body can show up for you. So let’s acknowledge all the hard the hours, days and months it takes to build muscle memory and get really good at something really new. Like, think about all the cool things you have taken on and conquered in this lifetime! Which is why we opened our doors in the first place, so you and your community can have a safe space to work through life and practice new things.

Hi Fire + Root fam! Austin (she/her) here - I am the founder of Fire + Root Collective and the actual most grateful for you reading this. Our community is growing in strides everyday and we remain so tight and connected and I feel so lucky. A lot of y’all have asked about our name so today I am sharing the story behind it.

I learned in 2020 that we would have to rebrand the old name (which was a true blessing in disguise) but left me really struggling to find the right fit. Nature has always been my best medicine and given me the most clarity. So I did what I do best and packed up the car with my ride or die, Miles; my four legged best friend.

I told Miles we were not coming back until he got to swim in the ocean, p*e on the biggest tree and we came up with a new name for this community. We made it through five states and ended up along the coast hanging with whales and moving through the redwoods.

Throughout the trip, Miles kept finding little treasures that he would bring to me, tiny crab legs, starfish and pinecones. He got like really obsessed with starfish and pinecones. I would throw the pinecones back into the forest and he would run after them and bring them right back to me, so proud of himself. The pinecones he was bringing were different to me, all closed up and not their usual expanded and unique selves. I learned that some pinecones that grow in areas with forest fires actually require the heat from the fire to open up, it melts the sap off and they become exposed to the elements which eventually allows them to make their brave fall from the tree and onto the ground where the seeds then take root in the freshly ash fertilized soil. I always find hope and healing through natures processes and those cute little pinecones really got me thinking of all the things that had gotten me to the really solid place I was in at that time.

I don’t even know how to start this post because I have been thinking about it for two years and all I want to do is shout from the mountains that, FIRE + ROOT HAS A PERMANENT, BEAUTIFUL, SAFE HOME IN CITY PARK. She’s so full of energy and healing already and I literally can’t wait for you to see it.

It feels like I have been working toward this forever but also like I just started. In two short years Fire + Root Collective has shape shifted a few times while remaining true to our mission; empowering and supporting Women and gender non conforming folks while breathing resources back into the community. And with all of your support and encouragement we have reached this really epic milestone.

Thank you to everyone that has reached out and offered support already. We will keep everyone posted on a friends and fam gathering, soft opening and class schedule. And I promise to build y’all the most epic space to fill your cup. And if you have any plants to donate or feeling like sliding into our Go Fund Me we would be the most grateful.
