β SNU Statement of condolence from Minister Jackie Wright in response to recent events in Australia - Monday 15th December 2025 π»
On behalf of the Spiritualistsβ National Union, I extend our deepest condolences to the Jewish community of Australia following the tragic events at Bondi Beach.
This act of violence has occurred as the Jewish community begins the sacred festival of Hanukkah. Hanukkah is a time that honours light, hope, resilience, and the triumph of spirit over darkness. it is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge this moment of grief at the threshold of a festival meant for remembrance, family, and faith.
We are profoundly saddened by the loss of life and the suffering caused by this senseless attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who were killed, and with all who have been traumatised. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community.
Spiritualism teaches that love endures beyond physical life and that the light of the spirit cannot be extinguished by acts of hatred or violence. As candles are lit this Hanukkah, may they stand as symbols of remembrance for those who have passed, and as beacons of comfort, strength, and hope for all who mourn.
May peace surround your community, may healing come in its own time, and may the light of understanding and unity continue to grow.
With sincerest sympathies and solidarity.
Minister Jackie Wright
President of the Spiritualists' National Union
