Detox Orange Carrot Juice
Ingredients
- 6 carrots
- 4 oranges
- 2 inch fresh ginger (use less if you want a more subtle ginger flavor)
- 1 tsp of ground turmeric (or 2 inches of fresh turmeric)
- Honey, to taste
Preparation
Juice carrots, oranges, and ginger in your juicer as well as turmeric if using fresh.
Stir in ground turmeric and honey.
Divide between two medium glasses or one large glass.
Enjoy immediately.
Feel lighter and refreshed.

Apple Pie Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon unsalted almond butter
- 1 tablespoon apple sauce
- 1/2 cup vanilla fat free yogurt
- 1 tablespoon 7 grain granola
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon Maple syrup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 red delicious apple, cut into pieces

Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Flank Steak with Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 packets Swanson® Flavor Concentrated Beef Broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 flank steak
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (about 3 cups)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 shallot, diced
- 1/4 cup water

Preparation
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat.

Add the beef and cook until well browned on both sides and until desired doneness, about 10 minutes for medium-rare.

Remove the beef from the skillet.

Heat 1 tablespoon butter and the remaining oil in the skillet.

Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.

Add the shallot, garlic and rosemary and cook and stir for 30 seconds. Stir in the concentrated broth, water and remaining butter and cook until the butter is melted.

Cut the beef diagonally against the grain into thin slices.

Serve the mushroom mixture with the beef.

Beef & Guinness stew
Ingredients
- 1-2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1kg / 2lbs lean shoulder of beef, cut into 2cm /1 inch chunks
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery sticks, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 500ml / 2 cups / 16 fl. oz. Guinness
- Salt & pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 15g / 0.5 oz. dark chocolate (optional)
- 15g / 1 tbsp corn flour / corn starch (optional)

Preparation
In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once your oil is hot, brown the beef. Do it in 2 batches if you need to, to allow an even browning on all pieces. Set aside.

In the same pan, fry the onion, garlic, carrots and celery, about 3-5 minutes, before adding the meat back.

Pour in the stock, Guinness, and bay leaf and season to taste.

Add the chocolate if you find it too bitter.

Bring to a boil then lower the heat and simmer for about 1 hours, or until the liquid has reduced. If the sauce isnt thick enough, remove the meat and carrots from the pan using a slotted spoon. In a small bowl, mix a few tablespoons of sauce with 1 tbsp corn flour, whisk until well combined and pour back into the sauce.

Let boil for about 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened, then tip back the meat.

Serve with mashed potatoes.

Duck Egg Omelette With Caviar and Sour Cream
Ingredients
- 3/4 gram jar Arënkha MSC (see About section above)
- large k**b of butter
- 2 tblsp sour cream
- 4 duck eggs
- salt & freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tblsp water

Preparation
An omelette pan with a 15cm (6") base.Make the omelettes one at a time.

Mix 2 eggs in a bowl with half the water, salt & pepper & beat lightly.Melt some butter in pan over moderately high heat.

Add eggs when it is foaming.Leave for a few seconds, then tilt pan & with a fork draw the egg from the edges into the centre so that the liquid egg flows into the space.Continue for about 30 seconds until almost all the liquid egg has gone.Then roll the omelette rather like a spring roll, tipping it onto a warm dinner plate.Using a small sharp knife, make a slit down the centre of the omelette, spoon over some of the sour cream, top with half of the Arnkha MSC, scatter with a little dill and serve immediately.Make the 2nd omelette in the same way.

Broccoli with cheese soup
Ingredients
- 400 g broccoli florets
- 2 Tbs flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp ground pepper
- 50 g feta cheese, crumbled
- 50 g Swiss chesee, coarsely grated

Preparation
Add onions and carrots to the melted butter and saute for 5-6 minutes over medium heat, or until vegetables are tender.

Add 1 cup chicken broth and bring to the boil.

Add broccoli and cook, covered, 5 to 6 minutes or until the broccoli is tender. Using a spoon, break broccoli florets in small pieces.

Reduce heat to low and add remaining cup of chicken broth.

Mix flour and milk in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.

Add mixture to the pot.

Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for about 5-6 minutes over low heat until soup thickens.

Add cheese, handfuls at a time, and stir constantly over low heat for 10 minutes until smooth and creamy. If soup becomes too thick, add additional chicken stock. Do not let soup boil.

Broccoli Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon apple juice or sherry
- 1 pound broccoli florets
- 2 teaspoons canola oil
- 2 carrots cut into matchsticks
- 1 pound finely-chopped mixed vegetables
- 1 piece fresh ginger - (1 ½") very thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons light or dark soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch or potato starch
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 6 shallots or 1 onion thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons sugar or honey

Preparation
Combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, juice, and vinegar in a measuring cup and mix until smooth.

Add enough water to make 1 cup, stir, and set aside.In a large skillet or wok, heat the canola oil until sizzling hot.

Add the shallots and garlic and stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes.

Add the ginger, carrots, and broccoli. Then add the mixed vegetables, ensuring that leafy vegetables, such as bok choy, napa, or bean sprouts, are added last. Stir-fly for 4 to 5 minutes. If the mixture looks too dry, cover and reduce the heat for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add the almonds, sunflower seeds, and sesame oil and stir-fry for 30 seconds.

Pour over the sauce, stirring steadily until the mixture is boiling. Cook for another minute and serve at once.This recipe yields 8 servings.Comments: Bright-green and orange vegetables are nutritious, but avoid preparing them too far in advance or overcooking.

Breakfast Tacos
Ingredients
- ½ Tbsp Smart Balance butter
- 4 corn tortillas
- 3 large eggs
- 1 small red potato
- salt & pepper
- 2 tbsp shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation
Cook potato in microwave. Slice and cut into thin strips.In a small saut pan heat butter over medium heat.

Add potato to pan and lightly brown potato, season with salt and pepper.

Add eggs to potato. Stir to scramble and combine.Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel.

Heat in microwave for about 45 seconds.

Place equal amounts in each tortilla and top with shredded cheese.

Tuna and Tofu Cold Dish
Ingredients
- 2 Block Silken tofu
- 1 can Tuna in water
- some cherry tomatoes, toasted white sesame seeds, diced spring onion
- Dash of white pepper, pinch of salt
- Sauce
- 3 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp Vinegar
- 2 tsp Kikkoman light soya sauce
- 2 tsp Chopped garlic
- Dash of black pepper

Preparation
Cut tofu into small blocks.

Remove water from tuna and squash tuna slightly and mix with a dash of white pepper and pinch of salt. Slice cherry tomatoes thinly.

Place tofu on serving plate with sliced cherry tomatoes and tuna on top.

Drizzle the sauce over it and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and diced spring onion and serve immediately.
