You’re not a burden for having a body that requires extra care.

And always remember… those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.

You have no idea what I just wrote down? Well I had no idea my body was going to do that. Whoopsie.

Just kidding. I wish I could do that but the people pleaser in me would neeevvvvvveeeerrrr.

If you have an autoimmune disease you know exactly how much energy it takes to document everything. The timeline, the symptoms, the medications, the reactions, the appointments, the diagnoses. Writing it out is not a small thing.

And then they walk in, glance at the chart, and say “so what brings you in today” — and something in you just dies a little.

We deserve doctors who actually read the room. And the paperwork.

Anyone in here ever laced into their doctor?

Nobody talks about how hard it is to be a good friend when your body is actively working against you. You’re exhausted, you’re hurting, you’re barely holding it together — and then someone you love needs you, and you show up anyway. Every time.

The world might see someone who cancels plans. What it doesn’t see is the version of you that cries and answers the text anyway.

You give from a tank that’s already empty, and somehow you still choose your people. That’s not weakness. That’s everything.

Who out there feels me on this one….

When your body says ask for help but your brain says but not like that!

This is my life on a loop. The exhaustion is real, the control issues are real-er.

Who else is out here white-knuckling their independence while trying to accept support? You’re not alone.

Is there such thing as human blinders?

Asking for a friend….

I’m always so optimistic when I go hiking but my feet and knees put me in check real quick 🤣🥴🫠

I would consider myself getting decently close to remission with my autoimmune disease but I don’t really know as I’m not really sure what remission looks like. Does it mean not a single flare ever?! Not even the slightest pain?!

I always start out great on my hikes or day adventures but by the end of the day/hike, my feet are on fire and pulsating. Screaming at me like a toddler throwing a tantrum because she’s way past her nap time.

If you’re in remission or have been - I’d love to hear from you! What does/did remission look like for you?!
