Today marks 12 years since I became a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of CO! Happy workiversary to me! This makes me reflect on all the changes that have happened in my field in those 12 years! More insurance coverage, more referrals from medical doctors, more awareness and willingness to try non-pharmacological options! The list goes on! I'm grateful!

This time last year, I finished the major part of my cancer treatment. This port that was in my chest is what allowed me to receive treatment. I also used Acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, and other treatments to help me manage the cancer treatments. Fall will always be a reminder of how far I've come! And I'm grateful for it :)

What a lovely fall view from my clinic in Denver. Reminds me that we are all in a time of transition from the warmth of summer into the cool of winter. Our bodies are adjusting along with our environment. Give yourself some rest during this season of change.

Another lovely Denver Fall day and the view from our clinic is lovely!!
Here's some advice from the Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective for coping with this seasonal change from late summer to autumn-
1-It's a great time of year for structure. List goals and priorities, set boundaries, and plan events!
2-Wear a scarf!!! You know that reaction you get in your neck and shoulders when the wind hits you? You tighten up. This causes neck and shoulder tension which a scarf can prevent!
3-Hydrate! Many of us forget about drinking water with the cooler temps. But it's dry out there!!!! Best to drink room temp or warm water/tea!
4-Eat warm foods! Soups, stews, and stir-fries! Also add warming herbs to food. Ginger, Cinnamon, Cumin, Cardamon, Fennel, Orange Peel, Clove, and Black/White Pepper! Sounds delicious!
